Ti Lian Ker (Thinking Aloud)

Ti Lian Ker (Thinking Aloud)

Nazi is out to score....

First I must admit that MCA is indeed pathetic. Many of us on the ground worked hard for the party and the community. Many of us made unappreciated sacrifices for the community and instead of being grateful, we are always faced with a barrage of abuses and taunting from our targeted beneficiaries and very unkindly too !

When I said many of us on the ground worked tirelessly - coming out with our money, time and energy, I am not exaggerating ! How many of us can be Ministers? How many of us are even qualified to be elected Member of Parliament or State Assemblyman ?

For those ground soldiers, they have nothing much to expect from MCA as MCA do not practice hangouts like Umno! For those ground generals, when you are too powerful but not powerful enough - you may be sacrificed for various reasons. Many ended up being bitter and cursed the system but it is not the system but human behavioral patterns present in Pakatan too.

For the past decades in MCA - it is the political secretaries etc who had the benefit of political patronage that will be paved a political path and career. The likes of Chan Kong Choy , Ong Ka Ting , Liow Tiong Lai , Chew May Fun , Ong Tee Keat , Loh Seng Kok, Chng Toh Eng , etc are the blue bloods of the party that are privileged and do not need to work, understand and comprehend the actual hardship and challenges on the ground directly.

People like Chan Kong Choy used to boast that he has never held the post of a Branch Chairman , a Division Chairman etc in his entire political career. And Ong Tee Keat's failure to sync with the grassroot leaders is also an exemplary of the 'political secretary syndrome" that I have written earlier.

Back to my topic today. I have seen how MCA was whacked, kicked and blasted. I can sympathize with the fate of being MCA. In Chinese, its called 'tai sie" or you deserved it ! You deserved it because you are the second brother with lesser power. You deserve it caused you are not looked upon in awe or feared.

In other words, when there is a bully, you will be targetted. And when someone wants to score points , they picked on you. I had been a victim of village and school bullies before as i was lucky to be born to one of the poorest family in my village with a siblings of nine and a rubber tapper father. Those experienced have toughen me up to stand up to the system or bullies in whatever manner street wisely... thus Kong Choy and cronies failed to kill me !

Chinese all over the world have been historically made a political victim in a political struggle. It happened not only in Indonesia but Vietnam, Phillipines , Thailand and even in the great democracy of America - the Chinese was once targetted by the Church and Americans and there was even a statutory law passed singling out Chinese discriminately. But as i always said, the little Ah Q in us forbids us to discuss these shameful events factually.

Nazri Aziz is no exception. He is a loud mouth bully who knows when to posture politically and survive the tsunami....He is intelligent and well like or hated as well. Thus he is not called the Chief for nothing !

My reading
is this: :

(1) There is a school of thought that feels that the Prime Minister Dato Seri Najib Razak had made too much concessions to MCA and the Chinese since the last election . This does not help either when Datuk Seri Chua Soi Lek took over with his trade mark fearless outspokeness and open demands. In the brief period that DS Chua took over the helm of MCA, he had crossed sword with some of the most powerful Umno leaders including the Deputy Prime Minister , the Home Minister etc and some have privately confided that they wish him out of system not for his DVD alone.

(2) Nazri is no loose canon too. He is an intelligent man whose words and thoughts are politically calculated. He had managed to keep his canon locked with regard to his many personal misadventures including a purported adult picture of him in a compromised position etc.

(3) The Chinese are well known for being selfish and their politics are far from scientific. Their posturing are very much for themselves and they tend to sacrifice long term interest for short term gain. They will go for micro-management when macro-considerations are needed.

(4) Nazri and many Umno leaders are no longer kampung Malays. They can read and have information on the political psyche of the Chinese. They know that the main obstacles and hindrance to some of Umno's political agenda from within Barisan Nasional is MCA. They also know that MCA as a party, is no pushover.

MCA is financially and politically structured and unshakable when it comes to the core issues of culture, education and religion. Whereas economically, the Chinese are divided by business groupings , Umno cronies , opportunist etc it is not the same on issues of culture, education and religion. MCA has been and will be the guardian and spokesman for the Non-Malays or Non-Muslims.

(5) Thinking Aloud...why not blast MCA to the ground and disperse MCA into fragments of Chinese NGOs, baby MCAs, Friends of BN etc . This is the perfect timing to screw up the political Ah Qs who are willing to gamble away their future by supporting PAS on a journey of never return.

It is easier to control a divided MCA then to allow MCA to continue to be a thorn in the BN's flesh. It is better to be rid of a partner who is taking a big share of BN's political cake but failed to contribute proportionately in return.

(6) In the past, MCA was being consciously divided by DAP and GERAKAN depending on the need and the balancing required of greater political masters. I have written about this in my earlier articles.

Now that Umno's political pool are being divided by PAS and PKR. MCA is potentially dangerous if they become stronger with the near demise of GERAKAN and ultimate marginalization of Lim Kit Siang & Son ruled DAP.

(7)Why not shoot a loose canon that will lead to the ultimate demise of MCA as a potentially powerful second brother who dares to seek equal partnership and may seek more if they became stronger. Its calculated and the Chinese vernacular papers was chosen for the blast.

MCA's improvement will place Umno in a perceived weaker and embarassing situation. PAS will definitely exploit the rural Malay sentiments as in the past when they changed like chameleons. Ultimately, the political pool is still dependent on the Malays and this was acknowledged by Hadi recently with a tinge of regret that they have over compromised with DAP on issues.

Thus PAS rear its ugly head again to display that they are still politically the BIG BROTHER on several issues and the MALAYSIA BARU DECLARATION that was played down among urban voters or the new media as this is a double edge sword for both PAS and Umno.

(8) Nazri knows that many businessman in the guise of Chinese NGOs and as individuals are waiting in line to jump on BN's bandwagon to have a direct line with BN leaders. Don't think that when they are millionaires, they are no longer greedy for more money!

By removing MCA as the obstacles, many of these fence sitters and rich or poor opportunity seekers will come in droves to join BN as friendly parties to support MCA.

In other words with MCA's demise, the portion of cake can be redivided and spread to obtain a larger support from the Chinese if Umno is to deal directly with these political Ah Qs and opportunist. Better still, the conventions of allocating four Ministers and Exco members in the state to MCA can be dispense with. Like the redistribution after May 13th when the MCA's lost their Trade and Industry Ministry and subsequently the Finance Ministry.

There is even a Chinese media group who used to depend on MCA to deal with the Prime Minister and a Chinese NGO who was formed by MCA's assistance in the 90s who had came forward to offer to replace MCA and take over the Chinese political ownership. This NGO leader even claimed that he is closer to the PM then the President of MCA and many believes . LOL!

Question is are they as politically genuine as MCA's grassroot leaders ? Question is what is their political or businees agenda? Replacing MCA ???? What is the political covenants or understandings? Like the Kafirs who supported PAS on an open ended basis knowing that you are at their political mercy anytime! Unconditional support ??? Wahlow weh !

Nazri is smart to know that it is time to have a back door takeover and so are many others in Umno...but not the political Ah Qs who smells a gamble for greater personal glory and opportunity !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
