| Land for Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Posted: 04 Nov 2011 11:35 PM PDT Whenever SJKC’s land issues are brought up in parliament, we have to fight it out as if we are at war. On January 30, 2008, just before 12th General Election, former MCA President Datuk Sri Ong Ka Ting and the then Education Minister Hishammuddin announced that 6 brand new SJKCs would be built, with SJKC Bukit Serdang among them. In April this year, Datuk Liew Yuen Keong , who is the MCA Serdang Chairman cum head of working committee for the proposed SJKC Bukit Serdang, announced that the committee has submitted a proposed building plan for SJKC Bukit Serdang to the Education Minister. The plan called for the new SJKC Bukit Serdang to be built on a piece of education reserved land (tanah rezab pendididkan) located in section 7 of Taman Bukit Jalil. Base on recent feedback from alarmed local residents, ground-breaking and construction work has started, but for a national secondary school, and not new SJKC as promised. Residents in Serdang are facing the problem of overcrowded national secondary schools as well. Therefore having a new secondary school is definitely a good thing as well. But, the residents in Serdang still felt cheated by MCA. (More......) |

| TARBIYAH PENTING SEBAGAI LATIHAN KEIKHLASAN DAN ISTIQAMAH DALAM PERJUANGAN ISLAM - NIK ABDUH Posted: 04 Nov 2011 06:36 PM PDT  TAIPING, 4 November - Tarbiyah merupakan aspek yang paling penting dalam sesebuah jemaah Islam kerana ia melatih diri anggota jemaah Islam untuk ikhlas dan istiqamah dalam perjuangan. Demikian dinyatakan oleh Ustaz Nik Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz semasa membentangkan kertas kerja dalam program Liqa Fikri PAS Negeri Perak di Air Kuning dekat sini. Turut hadir ialah Pesuruhjaya PAS Perak, Ustaz Abu Bakar Hussin dan seluruh pimpinan PAS negeri, kawasan dan cawangan. Beliau yang juga merupakan Timbalan Ketua Dewan Pemuda PAS Malaysia, menyatakan bahawa tarbiyah merupakan satu proses pembinaan dan penyempurnaan syakhsiah muslim yang berpanjangan sehingga akhir hayat.  Selain itu, beliau juga menyatakan bahawa terdapat dua kemenangan dalam Islam iaitu pertama, kemenangan abadi dengan janji pengampunan dan syurga di akhirat (al fauzul al azim) dan kedua, kemenangan Islam di dunia (al fath al qarib). Menurut beliau lagi, kemenangan akhirat dicapai secara kemestian fardiyah (individu) sedangkan kemenangan di dunia perlu dicapai secara jamaie (bersama). Walau bagaimanapun, manusia lebih suka akan kemenangan di dunia kerana kemenangan tersebut adalah dekat dan jelas; berbanding kemenangan di akhirat yang nampak masih jauh. "Kemenangan di dunia adalah ujian dari Allah ke atas hambaNya di dunia. Namun, ia tidak memberi sebarang kebaikan jika kemenangan dunia tadi tidak bersambung kepada kemenangan abadi di akhirat. Puncanya ialah apabila kita berhenti membina diri dalam tarbiyah Islamiyah," ujar pemimpian muda ini.  Beliau menambah, ada lima isu berkaitan dengan tarbiyah iaitu ahli PAS yang kurang minat aspek tarbiyah, terlalu menumpu kepada politik, kurangnya tokoh dalam pelbagai bidang yang memenuhi syarat tarbiyah, pemilihan pimpinan parti yang mengenepikan aspek tarbiyah dan aspek kesempurnaan peribadi dan budaya 'politiking' dalam parti. The setting of Khazanah Nasioanal Bhd was part of that Sleepy Head, who created all the problems in the country. Dishing all the goodies and 96 routes to AirAsia by taking them away from MAS. Even after FAx now AirAsia X Sdn Bhd has poor service record in RAS it is given more international routes like London, Gold Coast, Paris and etc to compete with MAS. AirAsia X Sdn Bhd was given RM250 mil for RAS and MAS was given half of it. Yet MAS can perform well with no complaints from the people of Sabah and Sarawak. Worst of all, the Sleepy Head allowed AirAsia/AirAsia Bhd to keep the RM250 mil even though the RAS had to be terminated prematurely. Bloody con man at work. That Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar and Rashdan should have been thrown out long time ago. |

This is the first time I heard of such thing be done by any company. You don’t institutionalized things – it is your culture , your practices and how you work that make you an institution. When you start taking about institionalize your organization, this mean you start taking about leaving a legacy. At this juncture , I do not think Khazanah or it current management has any positive legacy to shout about! Hence please do not bother to make such an appointment – it is another waste of taxpayers money. |

Good sent them to jail for a change. They have f..cked up this country and abused their positions for far too long. How are you Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar? I hope you are in good health and still flying very high in Khazanah? I have not seen you moving around in Khazanah like you have been doing? Aren’t you ashamed of the share swap based on share price? You are a shamed to this country. If I were you, i will just resign and fade away. |

No one against a genuine collaborative frameworks but not as a disguise to get more routes and to stifle MAS/Firefly or take advantage of MAS facilities. All services must be paid for at market price. A slight discount is acceptable. Until now there was no details of what collaborative frameworks are all about. The Deputy Minister of Finance YB Datuk Awang Adek can only tell Parliament “the collaborative frameworks will be announced from time to time”. This means that Khazanah, MAS and AirAsia have no concrete plans at all. In such a mater, the collaborative frameworks must have been properly thought out before announcement. It seemed that Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar and Tan Sri Tony Fernandes were rushing to sign it without consulting other stakeholders. Tun M has never said that he supported the share swap. There was no need to enter into a share swap in order to have the collaborative frameworks. There are so many companies in the world that went into co-operations for certain project without a share swap. A good example is the oil explorations project in North Sea where big oil companies like Esso, BP and etc went into collaboration exercise without a share swap and they compete with each other on their existing business. Why can’t MAS and AirAsia do the same? Competitions are always healthy and good for consumers. If such collaborative frameworks that were shrouded with secrecy are allowed then we will see more of it in the future involving Telcos and other industries. Who can a share swap based on the closing price of MAS and AirAsia share on certain date? If at all a share swap was deemed necessary, which is not, why Net Tangible Asset approach was not used to determine the value of the shares. No right thinking businessmen in the world would agree to Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar decision to go into a share swap based on share price especially when one company is an asset back company and the other is not. Whilst the investigations on the allegations of insider trading and non-disclosure to Bursa of the share swap prior to the suspension of both MAS and AirAsia counters by SC and Bursa, Bank Negara or any other authorities must not approve issuance of warrant, CUL or new shares as it will complicate the whole investigations. May I take this opportunity to wish you, your family and all Malaysians of Muslim faith a Selamt Hari Raya Haji. For the non-Muslim Malaysians have a nice break. Thank you. | Endorsing the Open Space Car Park of Kek Lok Si Posted: 05 Nov 2011 09:35 AM PDT 黃漢偉挺極樂寺建停車 As reported in Sinchew （檳城）亞依淡區州議員黃漢偉力挺極樂寺建停車場，前提是：必須依法完成所有的申請程序！ 黃漢偉昨日（16日）召開新聞發佈會時表示，極樂寺是東南亞的百年古剎，富有歷史價值，是佛教信徒也是旅客來檳必去的旅遊景點之一。恰恰因為極樂寺的吸引力，導致每逢過年過節之際，遊客總會暴增，造成亞依淡區嚴重大塞車。而這問題多年來一直懸而未解。 "在我上任後，每次遇上佳節或假期時，總會安排志願警衛團指揮交通，不過，問題的症結在於停車位不足，因此，我對於極樂寺要興建停車場是贊同的，唯他們必須依法申請。" 亞依淡需停車場 他也強調，興建停車場是當務之急，因為亞依淡區有這個需要，而他也相信極樂寺不會在興建停車場時破壞任何景觀。 "我們已經和極樂寺溝通好了，他們會補上文件等依法申請。" "我相信多溝通將能有效解決問題。" As reported in The Star Kek Lok Si Temple's proposed car park gets mixed reaction KEK Lok Si Temple's project to construct a car park has apparently been welcomed by traders and residents but the plan has come under fire from non-governmental organisations (NGOs). Air Itam assemblyman Wong Hon Wai said he received feedback from the locals in the area who welcomed the open space car park but wanted a better plan in terms of traffic elevation during peak season. "The Penang Government approved the land for the use of a car park. "The area lacks parking spaces, and this has been a long-standing problem," he told a press conference at the Air Itam market in Penang yesterday. On the concerns raised by the NGOs about whether the project would affect the heritage elements in the area, Wong said that the temple would strike a balance as it had always been at the forefront of preserving heritage. Prem Anand Wong, who is state Town and Country Planning, Housing and Arts Committee chairman, also said that the facelift of the Air Itam market was ahead of schedule, with the works being 90% completed. "The project is currently in its fourth and final phase, which is the upgrading of the vegetable stalls. "The whole project is scheduled to be completed by the middle of next month," he said. He added that it was among five markets that were earmarked for upgrading works under the Penang Municipal Council's 2010 budget. The other markets are those in Batu Maung (completed in March), Cecil Street, Jelutong and Pulau Tikus. He added that a new, modern- looking signboard bearing the words 'Pasar Awam Air Itam', with the translations in English as well as in Chinese and Tamil, would be put up on the building facing Jalan Air Itam. "The signboard will give prominence to the market which was built before World War II. "The facelift will upgrade the image of the market to make it more attractive," he said. |

Kong Min School board of trustees chairman Datuk Chuang Keng Kung said work was expected to be completed by Nov 11. The memorial was originally built by the Penang China Relief Fund, a Penang-based fund-raising organisation, in memory of the Penang Chinese who died under Japanese occupation in World War II. New look: The war memorial at the Air Itam roundabout in Penang undergoing major upgrading works. However, after the organisation was disbanded in 1952, the responsibility of managing the memorial was passed on to the Kong Min School board of trustees. The whitewashed obelisk commemorates the almost 800 people who are buried nearby. They consist of martyrs who joined the anti-Japanese resistance movement in China in the 1930s and 1940s as well as victims of Japanese atrocities during the occupation. Chuang said three features would be added to the memorial to enhance its historical value and tourist appeal. "They will highlight the memories and painful lessons of the war and instil awareness among the people in promoting peace in the world," he said at a press conference here yesterday. Chuang said there would be a model of Chinese transport volunteers pushing a truck up a slope along the Burma-Yunnan Road. "There will also be a relief wall with carvings featuring volunteers and trucks being bombed and shot at by Japanese aircraft as well as a column featuring pigeons circulating around them," he said. Chuang added that two display panels would also be installed at the entrance to the monument with inscriptions introducing the monument in Malay, English, Chinese and Japanese. | Additional 3000 titles of Chinese Books donated to Penang State Library Posted: 05 Nov 2011 09:19 AM PDT   As reported in Sinchew Daily. 佔檳政府圖書館中文藏書10%‧逾3千本中文書上架了！ 2011-10-22 10:24 星洲日報大北馬讀者及《大北馬面子書》粉絲年捐出的3千32本圖書如今全面上架，全州唯一諳中文的圖書管理員柯金蘭應記一功。（圖：星洲日報） 1 of 6 （檳城‧北海）星洲日報〈大北馬〉讀者及《大北馬面子書》粉絲去年捐贈的逾3千本中文書已全面上架，公眾即日起可到詩不朗再也檳州圖書館及喬治市圖書館借閱！ 必須一提的是，這3千32本經過審查才上架的書本，佔了全檳政府圖書館中文藏書的約10%。 由於檳州圖書館擁有一套完整的電腦目錄庫，公眾如果未能到以上兩間較具規範的圖書館借書，也可以透過檳州圖書館網頁（http://www.penanglib.gov.my）內的目錄庫查詢書本的"行蹤"，並要求將書本送到最靠近住家的圖書館。 唯公眾必須以漢語拼音搜尋華文書籍，其中可用書名、作者及出版商名字搜尋所要的書籍。 蘇克莉雅：好的開始還要延續 希望星洲再發動捐書運動 檳州圖書館主任蘇克莉雅受詢時說，全檳州目前已有2萬9千435本的中文書，由星洲日報〈大北馬〉讀者及《大北馬面子書》粉絲合捐的圖書佔了10%，這是一個非常好的開始。 她非常感激星洲日報發動的讀者捐書運動，使得州內的圖書館增加了逾3千本的各類華文書籍。 "我希望星洲日報來年再次發動讀者和面子書粉絲捐書給檳州圖書館，以惠及州內人民。" 人手不足耽誤書本上架 蘇克莉雅說，由於檳州只有柯金蘭一名諳中文的圖書管理員，在人手不足的情況下，才稍微耽誤了書本上架的時間。 她解釋："處理圖書上架要經過層層程序，整個過程可能最多要21天。如今總算將讀者和粉絲的捐出的3千本圖書都上架了。" 由讀者和粉絲捐獻的書籍，在喬治市圖書館有2千52本，至於詩不朗再也檳州圖書館則有980本。 她說，檳州圖書館的中文圖書借閱率非常高，早前由於沒有把從這次捐書運動中獲得的圖書分開擺放，造成今年6月間即使已把整千本捐書上架後，大家似乎都看不到星洲日報〈大北馬〉和面子書粉絲捐贈的書本。 3書架擺放讀者捐書 她說，如今檳州圖書館特別設置3個書架擺放這些捐書，讓公眾和捐書人一眼就看到這些書本擺在何處。 她表示，檳州共有81間公共圖書館及12輛的流動圖書館，也是全國唯一擁有華文書籍的州際圖書館。 從檢查......程序多 耗21天，書才上架！ 蘇克莉雅說，每本書在上架之前皆需要經久多個程序，從開始檢查到上架將耗時21天。 中文書上架程序列下： 1.檢查書本（包括查清楚書本是否完整、內容是否適合公眾閱讀、有否破損或遺失頁數）。 2.為中文書名標上漢語拼音。 3.為書本標上編號。 4.把作者、書名等資料輸入目錄庫。 5.將書本份類，如故事書、科學、激勵等。 6.貼上編號貼紙、蓋章、借書及還書卡等。 7.書本上架。 黃漢偉：讓少年囚犯多閱讀‧建議送書到監獄及感化院 全力協助這次捐書運動的檳州行政議員黃漢偉欣慰首次連同星洲日報號召讀者與粉絲捐書，就取得良好的效果，捐了佔全檳州圖書館內逾10%的華文書籍；他希望來年能夠繼續與本報共同推動捐書運動。 他說，第一次推動的捐書運動就豐富了檳州圖書館的中文藏書量，已成為一個重要的起點。 他說，隨著捐書運動的華文書籍全上架後，詩不朗再也檳州圖書館內的華文書架也增加了一倍，即從原有的3個，增加至目前的6個。 明年撥款給圖書館購書 黃漢偉也強調，圖書館內的書籍應該多元化，以應付各讀者的需求；並表示明年將會撥款給圖書館購買更多的書籍。 他也表示會繼續贊助檳州的作家出版書籍，及徵求作家捐書給圖書館讓人民閱讀。 他還向蘇克莉雅建議，應該將華文書籍送到各監獄及少年感化院，讓少年囚犯能夠多讀點書。 蘇克莉雅回應一旦監獄及少年感化院有此要求，圖書館肯定會配合，而目前大多數都只是要求馬來文書籍。 黃漢偉也感謝星洲日報讀者和大北馬面子書粉絲，慷慨的捐出好書。（星洲日報／大北馬） |
| Update on road widening of Lebuhraya Thean Teik Posted: 05 Nov 2011 09:12 AM PDT  首階段擴建工程鋪瀝青 天德園大道年尾或通車 ■天德園大道擴建工程最遲在明年初竣工。 （檳城29日訊）天德園大道首階段擴建工程已接近完工，目前已鋪上瀝青，預料今年尾或明年初就能完成。 檳州行政議員兼阿依淡區州議員黃漢偉說，天德園大道擴建工程分成兩大階段，首階段工程進度相當順利，如無意外將在明年初竣工與通車。首階段是由四季豪園公寓及四季新天地商場的發展商佳景集團負責。 第二階段工程是靠近天德園大道左轉入峇都蘭章巷一帶，需要兩年時間完成。這工程由發展商OHM集團承建，該公司正在當地發展公寓與排屋計劃。 從4條車道擴至6條車道 他披露，加寬後的天德園大道將從原本的4條車道擴展至6條車道，而且，以後從峇都蘭章巷要左轉進入天德園大道不再有交通燈，車輛可直接左轉。 他指出，基於天德園大道擴建之後，車流量和車速將會增加，為了防止不幸事件，當局也將在大道中間安裝分界堤。 對於大道旁居民不滿加寬後的馬路太靠近住宅的問題，黃漢偉說，大道旁的單層排屋早在60年代已興建，翻開市政局圖測紀錄，當地房屋曾經進行擴建。 "天德園大道是在90年代，因應發林新市鎮的發展而興建，如果當初這些房屋沒有擴建，就不會出現住宅過於靠近大道的情況。" 無論如何，他說當局將在路旁安裝防撞欄杆，避免發生意外。 雨量多沒水災 天德園治水計劃奏效 黃漢偉指出，天德園早在90年代曾經發生大水災，但最近這兩個月，降雨量雖然驚人，但當地並沒有發生水災，這功歸於州政府的治水計劃奏效。 他說，州政府經常指示水利灌溉局挖深弄浪河，同時，發展商也配合州政府整頓當地的溝渠及興建一個地下蓄水池。 "我相信是上述一系列的防範工程，使天德園的淹水情況獲得改善。" |

Her unit is one of the 3,744 units which benefited from the state government's allocation of RM5.4mil to replace aging sewer pipes and to fix toilet bowls at the nine blocks of low-cost flats in Rifle Range. "I have been residing here since 1971 and the pipes had not been changed since I moved in until now. "We are happy with the replacement of the old piping system but we hope they can hasten the speed of their work," she said when met at her unit in Rifle Range recently. State Town and Country Planning, Housing and Arts Committee chairman Wong Hon Wai said the project was scheduled to be completed by January next year. He said the pipes had to be changed to avoid leakage in the future. "To date, the replacement work has been completed at 1,434 units in nine blocks, leaving a remaining 2,310 units. "The Public Works Department (JKR), which is the implementing agency for the project, was having difficulties in arranging appointment dates with some owners. This is causing a slight delay in the completion," he said. Wong said the residents who have fixed the appointment dates should follow through accordingly and try not to be absent from their units when the workers arrived. Kebun Bunga assemblyman Jason Ong Khan Lee said residents should also not misuse the JKR contractors by asking them to work on other home improvement jobs in their units. "We urge JKR to monitor their contractors and advise them not to work on other tasks as requested by the unit owners," he said. 40年來首次大工程 打鎗埔換新廁所過年 2011-10-26 17:48 ■黃漢偉、王康立與工程局官員前往打鎗埔組屋巡視基設提升工作的進展。 （檳城26日訊）三度延後的打鎗埔組屋基設提升工程，預計在明年1月全面竣工，讓打鎗埔居民可以在較舒適環境下迎接農曆新年。 這項由州政府撥款540萬令吉的提升工程，分為2個部份，其一是在組屋單位外裝置排污管及水管，其二則是在組屋單位內換馬桶及鋪地磚。 這也是打鎗埔組屋40年來首次展開大型提升工程。打鎗埔組屋共有9棟，裝置排污管及水管工程目前已完成80%。 檳州房屋委員會主席黃漢偉表示，由於承包商很難與居民預約時間進屋更換馬桶及鋪地磚，以及在施工時面對技術問題，導致完工日期一再展延。 "A至E座組屋共有2112個單位，目前完成了834個單位的提升工作，而F、G、H及J座共有1632個單位，當中600個單位的提升工程已完成。" 他週二前往打鎗埔H座組屋巡視時說，每個單位需5天時間完成提升工作，因此每棟組屋的提升工程需花3個月。 "以這個工作速度，相信整個提升基設計劃將在明年1月完工。" 他表示，在這過度期，居民必定會面對諸多不便，如不能如廁，承包商已經把每棟組屋的其中兩個單位的廁所列為替代廁所。 他說，要更換整座組屋的水管及排污管是一項挑戰，希望居民體諒及多加忍耐。 植物園區州議員王康立也隨同黃漢偉巡視打鎗埔組屋。 |
