Kesulitan Dikesali: Laluan Dari Tol Sg Rasau Ke Klang Ditutup

Tiga Lorong Plaza Tol Sungai Rasau-Klang Akan Ditutup Dari 3 – 5 Julai

 June 29, 2013/Selangorku/ Admin

Jonker Walk and Jonker Drive will leave Jonker Mess

Posted: 30 Jun 2013 03:57 AM PDT

Yesterday evening, I had joined Members of Parliament for Gelang Patah, Seremban, Rasah, Bakri and of course, Kota Melaka and Bukit Katil to visit and protest the UMNO's political vengeance against Malaccans by opening Jonker Walk to motor traffic.

The visit and protest has attracted hundreds who unanimously demanded that the Melaka state government withdraw the order to the Melaka City Council to open Jonker Walk which has become a celebrated tourist landmark in Malaysia, famed for its weekend night market.

The protests expressed over the past week by various parties have resulted in the Melaka Chief Minister backtracking and twisting the rationale and decisions to open up Jonker Walk.

While initially Datuk Idris Haron had told Kwong Wah Daily that the move was to "fulfil the people's wishes" in reaction to MCA candidates being defeated by DAP, now he claims that the move has nothing to do with political retaliation, and everything to do with easing traffic congestion in Melaka City.

The twist and turn was so fantastic, he claimed that he has to resolve the severe congestion caused by Jonker Walk which results in up to a 4-hour journey from the city to the Ayer Keroh toll plaza. We would like to inform the Melaka Chief Minister that our journey from the city to the toll plaza yesterday, despite the crowded Jonker Walk, took us all of 30 minutes.

In addition, despite the ban on street traders which was explicitly stated in the state government directive to the City Council on 12 June 2013, Datuk Idris Haron declared 2 days ago that there was no decision to stop the street market and the 300 or so traders can continue their activities.

The above decision is not only a shocking half-reversal, it's completely irresponsible.  Datuk Idris has only retracted the decision to "ban" the night market traders, he did not retract the decision to open up the road.  This means that all the market traders who are displaying their wares and goods on the road side as well as the tourists and customers will be facing the risk of being knocked down by on-coming traffic.

The visit to Jonker Walk also reaffirmed our fear for the safety of the people when it is clear that there is no way a car can pass through the road with the traders on the streets, what more reopening the road to two-way traffic!

Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz had rightly ticked off the Melaka Chief Minister that the road is named "Jonker Walk" and not "Jonker Drive", and insisted that the tourist destination be kept as such.  In fact, Melaka government's convoluted and senseless decision to make it both a "Walk" and a "Drive" puts at risk the safety of tourists, residents and traders.  We will hold Datuk Idris Haron fully responsible for any untoward accidents happening as a result of opening Jonker Walk to motorised traffic.

The new Melaka Chief Minister must act like a leader and not a petty, cowardly politician.  We are more than happy to fight "politics" with BN in the state assembly or in parliament.  However, let's keep politics out of the interest, safety and livelihood of the people of Melaka and Malaysia.  The Melaka state government must immediately withdraw the order to re-open Jonker Walk to traffic during weekend evenings, and not wait for someone to get seriously hurt.

Jika 16-16, SPR yang salah

Posted: 29 Jun 2013 09:31 PM PDT

Flush of anger as IWK rates rise
By HAN KAR KAY
hankk@thestar.com.my

GEORGE TOWN: Landed property owners engaging Indah Water Konsortium (IWK) services for pour flush desludging will have to pay five-fold higher from tomorrow.

Air Itam assemblyman Wong Hon Wai questioned the sudden increment from the current RM48 (for capacities below 2.5m3) without any official announcement of justification by the national sewerage company.

"A resident from Lembah Ria, Air Itam, had complained about the matter after receiving a letter dated June 15 informing him of the new rates.

"I then contacted the state IWK office on Friday and a staff member confirmed the new charges as stipulated in the letter," he told a press conference yesterday.

Wong questioned the sudden hike by IWK, a wholly-owned sewerage company under the Ministry of Finance Incorporated regulated by the National Water Services Commission (SPAN).

"A check on the SPAN website revealed that as of 2010, some 4.4 million people nationwide including 286,000 in Penang had engaged the services of IWK and private contractors for their pour flush toilets.

"We want IWK to explain the increment which will affect a lot of people," he said, adding that the issue would be highlighted in the coming state assembly.

Storekeeper Tan Tee Yang, 61, a long-time resident of Lembah Ria was shocked upon receiving the letter.

"I usually engage the services of IWK once every two months and the sudden hike is ridiculous."

He then showed the letter issued by IWK and a subsequent reply from the sewerage company that confirmed the new charges which also stated that residents can engage the services provided by registered contractors approved by SPAN.

A pour flush toilet is similar to a cistern flush toilet but instead of having water coming from the cistern above, it is poured by the user.

Since flushing is done manually, residents are required to seek desludging services also done manually by IWK to clean the tank.

The new rates are only applicable for those living in landed properties as residents in high-rise buildings such as flats are required to pay a different sum.

Kelantan ranapkan impian JDT

Posted: 29 Jun 2013 05:54 PM PDT

21 Syaaban 1434 H. [MOD] -

Kelantan

Kemasukan Nunez nyata memberi kesan apabila setelah 16 minit berlangsung peluang pertama JDT muncul, namun kedudukannya offsaid.

Senarai barisan pemain Kelantan:

Azizi Matt Rose, Obinna Nwaneri, Nik Shahrul Azim, Mohd Shakir Shaari, Ahmad Fakri Saarani, Mohd Norfarhan, Mohd Duadsu, Badhri Radzi (K), Mohd khairul Fahmi, Dickson Nwakaeme, Zairul Fitree

Senarai barisan pemain JDT:

Mohd Al-Hafiz, Kamarul Afiq (K), Ahmad Tharmini, Safiq Rahim, Norshahrul Idlan Talaha. Andre Francisco, Nurul Azwan Roya, Mohd Safee Sali, Muhd Nazri Ahmad, Jasazrin Jamaluddin, Mohd Farid Ramli.

Kuala Besut: Salah SPR jika kedudukan 16-16

Posted: 29 Jun 2013 05:51 PM PDT

21 Syaaban 1434 H. [MOD] -]

Kerusi Kuala Besut kosong berikutan kematian Adunnya, Dr A Rahman Mokhtar baru-baru ini.

Question on Taib's 'naughty' MACC rejected

Posted: 29 Jun 2013 08:09 AM PDT

The parliamentary secretary today rejected a question by DAP's Segambut MP Lim Lip Eng on the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission's (MACC) action against Sarawak Chief Minister Abdul Taib Mahmud. Lim told reporters at a press conference outside the Dewan Rakyat today that his question was rejected by Dewan Rakyat secretary Rosmee Hamzah on the basis that it was a "hypothetical" question.
Lim wanted to ask whether the government would take any action against Taib for calling MACC "naughty" earlier this year, and who had also expressed his refusal to cooperate with MACC in the wake of a controversial video by international corruption watchdog Global Witness. Rosmee in the rejection letter, says a question cannot be asked "with purpose of obtaining just an opinion".
Taib had in April, while attending the BN supreme council meeting in Kuala Lumpur, said he would not cooperate with the "naughty and dishonest" MACC.
He said so when asked about MACC's probe into the Global Witness video that exposed alleged corruption in the Sarawak timber industry, with the individuals implicated in the video claiming to be related to Taib. Taib had previously dismissed the allegations as "normal business conversations".
"Probably, after this whenever MACC wants to investigate Malaysians, they can just call MACC 'naughty' and no action will be taken against them," Lim mocked. "This is a very bad example. If MACC does not want to take action against Taib, it can just say so. Don't reject the question," he added.

Kes saya bermotif politik untuk memburukan imeh KEADILAN - Yahya Sahri

Posted: 29 Jun 2013 09:54 PM PDT

KUALA LUMPUR, 29 JUN: Bekas pegawai khas Menteri Besar (MB) Selangor Mohd Yahya Mat Sahri berkata, kes terhadapnya bermotif politik dan bertujuan memburukkan imej KEADILAN.

Shahidan Kassim’s Latest Expose That No Chemicals Were Used In The Indelible Ink But Only Food Colouring Has Reinforced Public Demands That The Entire Election Commission’s(EC) Resign (en/cn)

Posted: 28 Jun 2013 08:49 PM PDT

Press Statement By DAP Secretary-General And MP For Bagan Lim Guan Eng In Kuala Lumpur On 29.6.2013.

Shahidan Kassim's Latest Expose That No Chemicals Were Used In The Indelible Ink But Only Food Colouring Has Reinforced Public Demands That The Entire Election Commission's(EC) Resign For Defrauding The People And Abuse Of Public Funds And Power.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Shahidan Kassim's latest expose that no chemicals were used in the indelible ink but only food colouring has reinforced public demands that the entire Election Commission's(EC) must resign for defrauding the people and abuse of public funds and power. In a parliamentary written answer to DAP MP for Segambut Lim Lip Eng, Shahidan Kassim said the indelible ink did not last a week as promised because all the chemicals in the ink were replaced by food colouring.

Shahidan's admission debunked EC's previous claims that silver nitrate was used in the ink and was supposed to last seven days. This latest revelation comes after Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr S Subramaniam openly contradicted EC Chair Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof's claims that the EC consulted the Health Ministry regarding the safety of the indelible ink by stating that the Health Ministry had never issued such a report.

Tan Sri Abdul Aziz had previously told the Straits Times of Singapore in a May 12 interview that the Health Ministry had advised against adding more than one percent of silver nitrate to the ink, which would have made the ink last. The EC was indirectly blaming the Health Ministry for refusing to allow an extra 1% of silver nitrate and causing EC to waste RM 7.1 million on purchasing the indelible ink fiasco that could be easily washed off.

To date Tan Sri Abdul Aziz has failed to produce the letter from the Health Ministry that stated putting more than one percent of silver nitrate in the ink could damage the kidney and cause cancer, a letter that the Health Minister himself denied ever issuing. How many more lies must the public endure from the EC Chairman and Deputy Chairman?

Shahidan in another reply to Seremban MP Anthony Loke that the total cost was RM7.1 million, added that the EC cannot reveal the name of the ‘indelible’ ink supplier because of security reasons. It is ridiculous that the national security of Malaysia can be threatened or riots will take place if the supplier of the indelible ink that wasted RM 7.1 million funds is made public.

Did PR Lose The Perak State Government Cleanly And Fairly?
EC has still refused to respond to the switching of election results between BN and PR as exposed by DAP Perak publicity chief Wong Kah Woh for the Jelapang state seat in Perak. DAP’s Borang 14 for Polling Stream 3 at SRJK (C) Lahat shows DAP candidate Teh Hock Ke having obtained 330 votes, compared with 137 votes for the BN. However, the result for this stream announced by the EC was in the reverse, with the BN said to have received 330 votes against 137 for the DAP. The EC backed this with a different Borang 14.

Wong said the EC’s version of the result, which has been gazetted, is highly unlikely because the DAP’s parliamentary candidate Batu Gajah that covered Jelapang state seat, V. Sivakumar garnered 373 votes in that stream, compared with BN’s 141 votes. In the other four streams at the SRJK (C) Lahat polling station, Teh garnered between 58 and 67 percent of the popular votes and won Jelapang with more than 70% of the votes.

What is shocking is Wong's suspicion that one of the Borang 14 is likely to have been forged, because the handwriting for the figures in the copies of the form with the DAP and the EC are similar, but the signatures of the DAP, BN and Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) counting agents and the presiding officer are different on the two forms.

DAP won Jelapang with 16,921 votes, a majority of 12,266 votes compared with the 4,655 votes received by BN and 2,568 votes won by PSM. Although the discrepancy will not cost DAP the Jelapang seat, Wong correctly said it would have made a difference in marginal seats such as Lubok Merbau, Manjoi and Pasir Panjang. Indeed this can change the final result as to which party forms the Perak state government as BN won Perak by 3 seats with 31-28 seats.

BN's Retention Of the EC Shows That The Basic Democratic Principle Of "One-Person, One-Vote, One-Value" Will Be Violated.

There can be no politically and morally legitimate government when BN won the smallest 112 parliamentary seats that comprise a mere 20% of the voters to form the Federal government. What type of legitimacy is enjoyed by a government that only enjoys 47% popular support as compared to 51% by the opposition? The average parliamentary constituency size of a BN seat is 46,510 voters compared to PR's 77,655 voters.

BN's retention of the EC shows that the basic democratic principle of "one-person, one-vote, one-value" will be violated. The striking contrast of PR's seat of Kapar with 160,000 voters with BN Putrajaya of around 16,000 voters highlights the unfair delineation of constituencies by EC that is weighted heavily in BN's favour.

As EC Deputy Chair Datuk Wan Ahmad was EC Secretary during the last constituency delineation exercise in 2002, how can the rakyat expect natural justice? The entire EC must resign because they have no integrity and public credibility to carry out a clean, free and fair redelinenation of constituencies that fully respects the principle of "one-person, one-vote, one-value".
