Salam 2 all.

3. Anwar juga berkata Jantan-X didalam videoklip tersebut buka beliau kerana perut beliau kempis, sedangkan Jantan-X berperut buncit. Teringat teman Anwar sendiri selalu mempermainkan isu videoklip VK Lingam dalam ceramah dan kenyataan beliau. "Looks like me, souns likme me, but it's not me..Korek..korek..korek.." kata Anwar dengan ketawa sinis didalam ceramah-ceramahnya mempermainkan videoklip tersebut. Sekarang sudah pulang paku buah keras. "Looks like me, sounds like me...but not my tummy..korek..korek..korek..!!!"

Adios amigos, grasias senor.

TAIB MAHMUD'S EMPIRE: FROM RAGS TO RICHES

Posted: 02 Apr 2011 06:59 PM PDT

A vast pool of information has been made available in Sarawak Report (  http://www.sarawakreport.org )  , the website recently uploaded the entire database of the Land and Survey Department of Sarawak that shows more than 1,000 plots of land acquired in recent years by the state, much of which have been passed on to Taib's close relatives and cronies at dirt-cheap premiums. Many of these plots of land, which total more than 1.5 million hectares, were in fact NCR land, secretively sequestered from the natives.(refer to map below)

MACC fiasco over Taib Mahmud scandal — Kim Quek
April 02, 2011
Malaysian Insider

APRIL 2 — The credibility of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) took a heavy beating when its two top officials floundered badly in a press conference over its failure to act against the notorious Chief Minister of Sarawak Taib Mahmud.

The latter has been in the limelight lately due to frequent exposures in the Internet of his fabulous wealth and massive land grabs, for which numerous reports have been lodged with the MACC.

In the press conference to present the annual report of MACC's complaints committee on March 31, both chief commissioner Abu Kassim Mohammed and committee chairman Mohd Nor Abdullah were confronted by journalists over MACC's deafening silence over long-standing accusations against the chief minister.

While Abu Kassim's answers were hopelessly evasive, Mohd Nor's reaction was outright obnoxious. The duo has conveyed this unmistakable message: Chief Minister Taib Mahmud is off-limits, don't you dare push us further!

To reporters' various questions such as: whether public complaints have been received, whether files have been opened, how many cases are there, will there be charges, Abu Kassim gave only irrelevant answers such as: we have to investigate all corruption, we cannot turn away any investigation, silence doesn't mean inaction, etc. As questions persisted, he eventually repeated like a parrot to all further questions: "When there is a complaint, it will investigate."

Mohd Nor, who was sitting next to Abu Kassim, stepped in to warn the reporters to back off. Obviously basking in his credentials as a former Court of Appeal judge, he asked reporters not to breach the Printing Presses and Publication Act (PPPA), which stipulates that news can only be published if there is reasonable cause to believe it is true. He said: "If you ask me whether there is any investigation on the chief minister, you may have breached the Act, as you already have the pre-conception of the CM's corruption. You cannot ask me that. You cannot fish for evidence. Have you done your investigation? Inquire the truth first, then ask."

While Abu Kassim's utter timidity to touch on anything relating to the chief minister merely confirms what is already public knowledge — that the MACC is completely impotent to deal with any corruption case of ruling Barisan Nasional's heavyweights — it is Mohd Nor's menacing and stupid threats to news media that have riled the otherwise complacent public.

Mohd Nor talked as if we are ignorant of the mountain of evidence of corruption and abuse of power by Taib Mahmud unearthed and circulating on the Internet. Evidence against him is so voluminous and detailed that it formed a two-inch-thick book which was formally handed to the MACC. And reports that were lodged almost one year ago have met with only silence from the MACC.

The reports against Taib are mainly based on the website Sarawak Report (http://www.sarawakreport.org) which chronicles Taib family's multi-billion ringgit fortunes in the form of overseas real estate properties, Malaysian enterprises and large areas of land in Sarawak. The Sarawak Report website carries amazing details of Taib family's assets, complete with proof of ownership extracted from company registries and land registries. Perhaps it is these meticulous details appearing as incontrovertible proof that have unnerved the MACC, causing its two top officials to make a fool of themselves in public.

As an example of the vast pool of information made available in Sarawak Report, the website recently uploaded the entire database of the Land and Survey Department of Sarawak that shows more than 1,000 plots of land acquired in recent years by the state, much of which have been passed on to Taib's close relatives and cronies at dirt-cheap premiums. Many of these plots of land, which total more than 1.5 million hectares, were in fact NCR land, secretively sequestered from the natives, whose complaints have resulted in more 200 land litigations. The few cases that have been heard by the courts have ended in favour of the native landowners, indicating the illegality of Taib's land grab.

As proof that Taib's family has been major beneficiaries of this illegal land grab, the names of some 50 companies featured in the land register as original recipients of land from the state were listed, each identified with members of Taib's family.

Another piece of bad news for the embattled chief minister is the recent disclosure of a so-called black list of 49 companies spread worldwide, each linked to Taib's family. This list, announced by the Bruno Manser Fund, a Swiss NGO dedicated to the cause of the oppressed Sarawak natives, shows 13 of these companies are located in Malaysia, 10 in Australia, nine in Canada, seven in Hong Kong, the balance in UK and other parts of the world.

The beauty of the entire Taib corruption episode is that Taib himself never really denies the existence of his family's vast assets.

In an interview during the cyber campaign launched recently by him to fend off the various accusations, he attributed his family's fortune to the entrepreneur genius of his daughter Jamilah. Taib explained that when he left the federal government three decades ago, he gave some money to Jamilah from his gratuity to start off her business in Canada. Due to her business acumen, that business eventually snowballed into an international business empire.

While one is still stretching his imagination as to what little credibility could be given to Taib's rag-to-riches story, the answer came in another interview of Taib. To buttress the veracity of his story, Taib elaborated further that he had no choice but to do business abroad 30 years ago where his well-educated children were doing business. He said:

"I don't want conflict of interests to haunt me all the time. If I do business inside the country, people will say I use my influence to enrich myself, so we did it outside the country."

What a terrible lie that was! Who in Sarawak doesn't know that the state's largest conglomerate CMS is the flagship of Taib family's business empire which creams off the juiciest contracts from the state, much to the revulsion of the local business community?

With that blatant lie, what credibility can we give to Taib's self-made billionaire story?

Facing such awesome evidence of massive corruption, the chairman of MACC's complaints committee had the gall to make legal threats to inquisitive inquirers, as if Taib is a victim of dubious accusation!

The Taib Mahmud story is only one of many of Barisan Nasional's numerous mega corruption scandals involving its reigning elites which have been routinely neutered by our law-enforcing institutions, be it the MACC, police, Attorney-General or the judiciary.

And the latest theatrics of the MACC described here only confirms that nothing has changed despite Prime Minister Najib Razak's much-trumpeted reforms via his numerous slogans.

Selangor Freedom of Information Enactment

Posted: 02 Apr 2011 12:51 AM PDT

Media Statement by YB R Sivarasa, Ahli Parlimen Subang dated 2nd April 2011

Re: Selangor's Freedom of Information Enactment

I welcome the approval of the improved version of the Freedom of Information Enactment at the Selangor State Assembly sitting yesterday and congratulate the Selangor Pakatan Rakyat administration led by Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim and in particular YB Elizabeth Wong and the FOI Select Committee of the Selangor DUN on a historic achievement. This is yet again another proof of the commitment of Pakatan Rakyat in fulfilling our election promises to the rakyat.

The FOI Enactment is concrete evidence of Pakatan's commitment to democratic transparent and good governance. Pakatan Rakyat would be able to do much more in democratizing Malaysia if we were endowed with a mandate to govern at Federal level.

In the light of Pakatan Selangor's historic achievement, at the next meeting of Parliament in June when I am allowed to reenter Parliament, I will retable the private member's Freedom of Information Bill which I first presented in May 2008. Because of the current unfair system practiced by the BN in Parliament where opposition business including private members bills is not allocated any time, the Bill was not allowed to be discussed at all in the several occasions I presented it.

Now that the Selangor Pakatan Rakyat government has taken this initiative, I hope that Barisan National will respect the rights of the rakyat and allow the FOI bill to be debated in the Dewan Rakyat. Or, at the very least, there should be agreement to set up a Select Committee to oversee public consultation of the Bill in the manner the Selangor government has done.

Transparent and good governance are fundamental issues to be dealt with in our country. Slogans of transformation will be meaningless rhetoric unless substantive political reform such as the FOI legislation are also undertaken

Riding Political Road

Posted: 02 Apr 2011 08:57 AM PDT

In an exclusive interview with FMT, Kota Belud MP Abdul Rahman Dahlan shares his views on politics as well as his passions, which include riding a superbike.
INTERVIEW

PETALING JAYA: On evenings when the sun dips a little lower, the distinct grunt of a superbike is heard across the grounds of Parliament. These days, the security personnel no longer bat an eyelid as the Kawasaki GTR 1400 cruises through the gates.
They know it's just Kota Belud MP Abdul Rahman Dahlan on his high-powered machine.
"I drive home in the late afternoon to freshen up and then I ride my bike back," he said. "It messes my hair but it clears my head so I can go working through the night. Riding is so therapeutic."
Then he leaned forward and confessed with a grin, "The highlight of the Manik Urai by-election for me was riding my bike all the way up there. It was just music, my bike and the road."
Rahman, 46, firmly believes in having passions outside politics and biking tops the list. The second is his love for gadgets, an iPhone, two iPads and an iPod. The third is American Idol runner-up, Adam Lambert.
"I was devastated that he didn't win!" he declared. "Lambert has talent and I'm a sucker for talent. And he has the discpline and knowledge which in itself excites me."
"I know he's gay but that's besides the point. I wanted to attend his concert in KL but I had to be overseas and then the concert ended up being banned which was so unnecessary."
Nerve-wrecking experience
The Umno leader's earnestness made the conversation seem like the most natural one to have in a Parliament lounge. He later dished out opinions and explanations with a curious air of easy confidence and candour.
A far cry indeed from the MP who arrived an hour ahead of his first Parliamentary sitting in April 2008 out of sheer nervousness that he will be late for registration.
"I told myself the previous night that I had to beat the traffic, but when I reached there no one else was around," he said laughing. "So I sat in my car and waited for the others to show up."
And when they did, he paid close attention to the Pakatan Rakyat MPs. They were on a high from freshly denying Barisan Nasional a two-thirds majority and Parliament reverberated with their excitement. Rahman had only three words to describe his first day – a nerve-wrecking experience.
Three years on, he has discarded those jitters and is among the more vocal MPs in Parliament and the social media. He blogs, tweets, has a Facebook account and belongs to 20 BlackBerry groups.
Hardly excessive for someone whose sole focus is on reaching out and serving the people just as his father taught him, albeit with a touch of modernity.
Rahman's father, Dahlan Harun, belonged to the now defunct United Sabah National Organisation (Usno) and was the Sulaman assemblyman for six years beginning 1971. The seat is currently held by the Sabah Minister of Housing and Local Government and Rahman's first cousin, Hajiji Haji Noor.
"Politics is in the blood," Rahman shrugged.
"When I was studying in the US, I joined associations that studied public policies. I was among the founders of Umno California Utara in 1983. This was seven years before Umno came to Sabah. Kota Belud was its birthplace there."
Rahman, a "100% Bajau boy and darn proud of it", was born in Tuaran and belonged to the Umno division there. But that seat was promised to a component party in the 2008 elections so Rahman was slotted into Kota Belud instead. At the time he was also the Umno Youth secretary.
"It was tough going into a different constituency," he remembered. "But Kota Belud has always been kind to Umno so I wasn't too worried. In fact I was fretting more over other Umno Youth members particularly Khairy (Jamaluddin) who was rumoured to be faring badly in Rembau."
Rahman won with a 3,020 majority over PKR's Saidil @ Saidi Simoi but although the victory was expected, he was surprised that the majority was slimmer than what was secured in the previous polls.
Since then, he has been returning to Kota Belud every weekend and after three years, Rahman said that he can now feel the people's warmth and acceptance.
In the right direction
The common perception of BN politicians is that they march to the government's drumbeat. But Rahman has cracked that mould ever so slightly by deftly slipping in a few drumrolls of his own.
Expressing his views on Umno, he said: "I believe in what its founding fathers espoused it to be although some characters have tried to colour Umno to suit their style. When I'm confused I just return to the party's constitution which contains none of the leaders' names."
"It gives me comfort that I'm moving in the right direction. All that Umno is criticised for is related to the people's behaviour and not the party's foundation. Unfortunately the party has to suffer for it"
Rahman also believes that Umno is regaining support from the Malay community and the recent by-election results are testimonies to this.
"We've seen five straight by-election wins so it's safe to say that Umno is regaining Malay support. If you had visited the Malay belts after the 2008 general election, you could feel the anger and frustration towards Umno.
But now a lot of that is water under the bridge and the Malays are seeing Pakatan's true colours. I can sense the acceptance for Umno returning.
The return of Malay support is a result of party efforts and the prime minister's (Najib Tun Razak) work but Malaysian politics is always more personality driven.
Look at how (Pakatan leader) Anwar (Ibrahim) has glued the opposition together. It's the same with BN. Najib is the single most important factor responsible for us winning back Malay support."
Rahman also denied that BN politicians served merely as "rubber stamps."
"It may appear so but it isn't true. At each Parliamentary sitting we hold daily pre-counsel meetings during which the deputy prime minister (Muhyiddin Yassin) will present the gist of all Bills that are up for debate.
This is where we voice our support or protest. This was where BN backbenchers rejected the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Bill and delayed its implementation.
We fight among ourselves during these meetings but when we are in Parliament we stand as one because we have already come to a unaminous decision beforehand. So it's not blind rubber stamping."
Ask probing questions

Quizzed on the role of the social media, Rahman said it is definitely the way forward.
"When I'm replying tweets, it strikes me that I could be connecting with a teenager sipping a latte at a bus stop. This is the meaning of empowerment.
Its time politicians acknowledged that public discourse can no longer be dictated by government policies and ideas can no longer be contained."
And what about the alternative media?
"I embrace them. They are important. But we must be careful not to abuse the very tools we need in our journey to become a mature democracy. The younger generation demands transparency from the government but not from the opposition.
So I ask of them to be bi-partisan. If they think PKR is doing good, then support it. But if the government is also doing good, then support it too.
Journalists should also ask more probing questions to expedite responses from the MPs and help people understand the full scope of the issue at hand. If a MP makes a statement, journalists should anticipate the probable response from the other side and ask a related question that will expand the story. Otherwise we'll only be reading what the ministers want to say.
How seriously do I take the alternative media? Let's put it this way. The first three websites I visit every morning belong to the alternative media. Only then, do I read the mainstream ones."
On the problem of illegal immigrants in Sabah, the Kota Belud MP said until more West Malaysian MPs join the fight, the issue will not be resolved anytime soon.
"It's a long standing issue that has raised a lot of concern. What's worse is that a government survey showed that illegal immigration isn't among the top ten issues on the minds of Malaysians. This has infuriated Sabahans.
West Malaysians don't feel its weight but Sabahans believe that this is a security and sovereign issue that involves everyone."
Sharing his views on Parliament itself, Rahman said the time has come for it to move into the electronic age.
"First, the amount of paper that we use is murderous. We all have laptops so why can't we do everything electronically?
Second, all questions in Parliament that are answered in writing should be electronically stored because it contains the latest data which would greatly benefit journalists and the public.
Third, Parliament doesn't move. This building is tradition and moving would mean losing that. Yes it's compact and crowded but this is what it's all about."

Selangor government gives 4 pieces of land for Chinese schools

Posted: 02 Apr 2011 10:46 AM PDT

When I raised the issue relating to the progress of four new Chinese Vernacular Schools approved by the Federal Government since 2008 in Parliament on 24 Mac 2011, Deputy Minister of Education Datuk Wee Ka Siong tried to beat around the bush and put the blame on Selangor State Government for not approving the lands for the school construction. However, the reality is on Oct 2010 the Selangor State government has issued a letter of support to award four pieces of land for the purpose of building four Chinese primary schools.

The issue now is, these schools need to get Education Ministry's approval in order to kick off the construction project. Datuk Wee and Ministry of Education should stop to be hypocrite and give the green light for building new Chinese school (SJKC) now on the lands approved by Selangor State Government now !

Selangor government gives 4 pieces of land for Chinese schools

This morning, I held a press conference to announce that the Selangor State government has issued a letter of support to award four pieces of land for the purpose of building four chinese primary schools.

The Petaling District chinese primary schools committee (Jabatan Kerja Kemajuan Sekolah Rendah Cina Petaling) applied to the Land Office for eight pieces of land last year.

YB Dr Halimah (EXCO  for Education) office and I both checked with the Land Office and received confirmation that four of the eight pieces of land which they applied for are indeed available for schools.

[Sinar Harian] Penduduk Bandar Damai Perdana Fasa 1 tidak lagi bimbang

Posted: 02 Apr 2011 08:28 AM PDT
