'1Melayu, 1Bumi' movement will lead to apartheid, says MCA

KUALA LUMPUR, April 22 — The MCA condemned Utusan Malaysia's call for a '1Melayu, 1Bumi' movement after Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and former PM Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad spoke out against the proposal today. MCA deputy publicity chief Loh Seng Kok warned that the movement would create apartheid in Malay-majority Malaysia.
"Surely Utusan Malaysia would not want Malaysia to be equated with Apartheid South Africa or Segregation America," said Loh in a statement today.
"Tweaking the idealism of 1 Malaysia, which was mooted by our Prime Minister, into a racial superiority concept of 1Melayu, 1Bumiputera is no different from regressing Malaysia towards legalised racial discrimination — a practice of the past but condemned internationally," he added.
Malay rights group Perkasa announced yesterday that it would spearhead the movement, warning that the Chinese were seeking ultimate power.
Utusan had called on its owners Umno to spearhead a '1Melayu, 1Bumi' movement involving all Malay parties, claiming that the DAP was intent on toppling the country's Malay leadership.
In a surprising move today, Dr Mahathir called the '1Melayu, 1Bumi' idea disastrous.
The elder statesman said that such a movement would eventually result in a two-party system, which would be dominated by the Malays and the Chinese on opposing sides of the divide.
This is the first time Dr Mahathir, a fervent Malay rights proponent and patron of Malay rights group Perkasa, has disagreed with Perkasa and Utusan's ideas.
Najib also distanced his administration from Utusan's call, saying it was the personal opinion of the writer at the Umno-owned daily.
"What Umno needs to do now, in this pressing time, is to launch a wave of racial unity — 1Melayu, 1Bumi. Launch 1Melayu, 1Bumi immediately with other Malay parties," assistant chief editor Datuk Zaini Hassan wrote in Utusan yesterday.

The PM also said the Malay-language newspaper will not deter the government's commitment to his 1 Malaysia brainchild. Najib stressed the movement was unnecessary as the Malay community can unite by supporting Umno.
Loh reminded Utusan that Barisan Nasional (BN) comprises 13 political parties which represent various communities.
"Thus to push for a 1Melayu, 1Bumputera defeats the very basis of BN itself and will backfire against the BN coalition as a whole at the ballot box," said Loh.
"What is more important is for Utusan, with its readership, to seek respectability by pushing for the realisation of the 1 Malaysia concept, that is promulgating friendship and trust," he added.
The MCA presidential council member also questioned if Utusan's '1Melayu, 1Bumi' proposal included non-Malay Bumiputras, like Christian Sarawakians, who make up half the population in the country's largest state.
"Would this 1Melayu, 1Bumiputera also include the likes of Tun Dr Mahathir Muhammad who has acknowledged that he has Indian ancestry; Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz, who in the book "Found in Malaysia", in her own words, acknowledged she is of "pendatang" stock from Sumatera; or (Home Minister) Datuk Seri Hishamuddin Hussein who has Turkish lineage?" asked Loh.
"To give Utusan Malaysia a detailed response to its typical publication of race-incitement is to actually give it unwarranted publicity which the newspaper does not deserve at all," Loh blasted.
Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng earlier today challenged MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek to pull out from BN if he did not tell Umno to demand from Utusan an apology and withdrawal of the '1Melayu, 1Bumi' proposal.
Like Loh, Lim also described the Malay daily's idea as a form of apartheid that should be treated as a serious danger to the country because it could possibly incite racial segregation and hatred to the extent of reducing all non-Malays to the position of second- or even third-class citizens.

PAS FOR ALL!!!!

This is the whole concept of PAS FOR ALL that was officiated by the Deputy President of PAS on a very special date, that is, September 11th 2007.
PARTI ISLAM SEMALAYSIA (PAS) upholds the principle of Islam as a blessing to all mankind(rahmah lil 'alamin) that is for all irrespective of race, colour, status and even religion. This is the fundamental teaching of Islam.PAS is bound by this principle and is thus easily embrace the policy of equality to all humanity and has no problems with sharing all that Allah bestowed upon a nation to all its peoples.
This translates into governing policy that PAS will ensure all communities whether MALAYS, CHINESE, INDIANS or any other minority groups will be hand;led according to their needs not to their colour. PAS has no problem whatsoever if any race wishes to preserve and practise its language, customs or even religion. This is the real struggle of PAS which has not been understood by the masses at large.Although equipped with Harakah tabloid and its electronic version harakahdaily it is still within very limited circle of influence and reach. PAS definitely needs to strategize definitive plans for broader and deeper of understanding of its struggle. This will not only benefit PAS but all the people who long for real inclusive and principle-centred trustworthy government who can ensure security for all of its people.

Easter Message 2011

Posted: 24 Apr 2011 02:10 AM PDT

In this holy Easter celebration to mark the crucification of Jesus Christ and the Lord Jesus resurrection, is also an occasion to to renew Christians' vows of faith in truth, hope and love.

Christians regardless of skin colour have prayed for peace and prosperity. Christians have also prayed for wisdom and compassion in our leaders. Most important of all Christians pray for truth to guide Malaysians in our daily affairs.

All religions celebrate these common values of truth, unity in diversity, freedom of choice and peace. We must seek truth from facts and not allow sentiments to be ruled by blind emotion.

To all Christians, I wish you a very happy and blessed Easter.

If we are to be one united nation, we must learn to share, we must believe in equality and equal opportunity. We must believe in justice.

Stop the characterization of the Holy Scriptures by the Home Ministry as threats to national security and public order. Stop restrictions on the right of Christians to use any language to worship. Stop the stamping of Malay bibles which is an act of dishonouring the Holy bible.

We need to change. Change for the better. To change is difficult but not to change is fatal. We need a change of mindset of treating every Malaysian as facing common problems and aspirations. We must celebrate our differences and our diversity.

We should move away from the mindtrap of fear based on hate, racism, extremism. We should not be taught to fear diversity. We should not be brainwashed with Hitlerian ideas that one is superior to another merely because of the colour of our skin.

We must have the courage to change.

Malaysians are ready to embrace change; change for the better. Malaysians no longer want to live under a situation where freedom is curtailed, human rights infringed, and abuse of power, corruption and mismanagement are rampant.

In the recent Sarawak state election, Sarawakians have decided that enough is enough. Sarawakians want good governance, end to corrupton, empowered by democracy, equal opportunity and justice for all.

Just as Easter signifies a renewal of life, Faith, hope and love can drive home a victory against ignorance, fear and oppression.

Let us fill our hearts with faith, hope and love by discarding those with racial prejudices and hatred or who preach the language of violence and division. Then only can we realise the ideals and aspirations in the Malaysian Constitution of forging one nation.

Chua Soi Lek Labelled As Crazy By His Own MCA Branch In Penang

Posted: 24 Apr 2011 02:09 AM PDT

Chua Soi Lek Labelled As Crazy By His Own MCA Branch In Penang: -Urban Voters In Sarawak Voted For PR And DAP not On Race But Because They Wanted Good Governance, An End To Widespread Corruption And Taib Mahmud's Misrule.

Urban voters in Sarawak voted for PR and DAP not on race but because they wanted good governance, an end to widespread corruption and Sarawak Chief Minister Tan Sri Taib Mahmud's misrule. DAP would not have won the four seats of Kidurong, Meradong, Batu Kawah and Dudong without strong Iban support as these seats have either slightly more than 50% of Chinese voters or even slightly more than 50% of Iban voters.

Numbers do not lie. It is a statistical fact DAP would not have won 12 seats by relying solely on Chinese support. The demographic make up of voters require substantial if not a majority of Iban voter support to win 12 seats. That is why the desperate attempt by BN to racialise the Sarawak general election results, is an act of denial by BN who has refused to accept and account for their losses.

PR and DAP admit that whilst urban voters swund their support to PR and DAP, however rural voters regardless of race whether Chinese or non-Chinese generally stayed with BN, albeit with reduced majorities.

PR through our performance in the PR ruled states in Penang and Selangor have shown we can deliver both good governance and end corruption. Ibans voters in the urban areas responded to these issues because of PR good performance in government. For instance for the first time in history, Penang recorded a string of No. 1′s:-

1. Top in investments in Malaysia attracting RM12.2 billion investments or 26% of the overall investments in Malaysia. Penang’s FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) contribution is even higher at 36% of Malaysia’s FDI despite having only 6% of the nation’s population.

2. Praised by the National Auditor-General for being the state with the best financial management in 2008 to 2009.

3. Top in Malaysia in reducing the crime index for 2010 by 27%.

4. Pioneer and leading state in green initiatives moving towards becoming the first green state in Malaysia.

5. Only state in Malaysia to be praised by Transparency International for fighting corruption through the state government’s open tenders and CAT governance based on Competency, Accountability and Transparency.

6. Top in medical tourism with 60% revenue in Malaysia.

7. The first state to wipe out hard-core poverty by ensuring that every family’s income is at least RM 500 a month and giving out RM 100 annually to senior citizens above 60 years old.

8. The highest increase of air travelers (30%) amongst all Malaysian airports in 2010.

9. Lowest unemployment rate and is actively sourcing for skilled workers.

10.Upholds basic human rights through enacting the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and setting up Speaker’s Square at the Esplanade, the first in Malaysia which gives not just freedom of speech but also freedom after speech.

11. Foremost in protecting, preserving and promoting heritage conservation in Malaysia through the UNESCO World Heritage City of George Town.

12. Ranked as the most livable city in Malaysia.

MCA President Datuk Dr Chua Soi Lek has tried to bring this racialisation of Malaysian politics a step further by asking SUPP to withdraw from the state cabinet in protest at the loss of Chinese support. This is comical in that Chua did not practice what he preach when he did not instruct MCA Ministers to withdraw from Cabinet or the sole MCA assemblyman in Perak and Negeri Sembilan to withdraw from the respective State EXCOs.

Instead Chua had tried to blame his predecessor Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat for refusing to withdraw MCA from Cabinet. Even a MCA branch in Penang, Taman Sri Nibong headed by MCA Bayan Baru Deputy Divison Chair condemned Chua's idea as crazy – see below:

MCA President has gone crazy

MCA President CSL has gone crazy,

In the first instant what right he has to interfere with the functioning of SUPP. SUPP is not MCA although it may have a large membership of Chinese, It was definitely wrong for CSL to advise the President of SUPP George Chan not to accept the cabinet post should he be offered by the back door. George Chan has lost in the recent State Election.

To make matters worse, when he responded to the Lim Guan Eng of the DAP for not acted the same what he had advocated by not asking single MCA YB in the State to leave the State cabinet. He conveniently absorbed himself that he was not the MCA President then when the decision for those single YB to accept State cabinet post.

Such a reply was rather ridiculous. At that time he was the MCA Deputy President, and why did he not expound this preposition?

I am sure he did not have this idea yet.

What I see, CSL is getting himself entangled in this defeatist attitude which will definitely make the Chinese the loser if the situation in the coming general election causes him to walk the talk which he proudly declared he would do so.

Mind you his Deputy, LTL category said, SUPP is the barometer of the MCA. Now that the result of the SUPP has shown us, I am sure MCA is prepared to take the rap.

Remember at one time in the history of the country MCA had withdrawn from the cabinet and the Chinese had no representative at all. What happened then, I need not elaborate.

CSL please wake up.

Dr. Chan

PAS pilihan terbaik

Posted: 24 Apr 2011 07:04 AM PDT

DAP ATUR STRATEGI PR 2016 - berwawasannya DAP...!

Posted: 23 Apr 2011 05:44 PM PDT
