Best In Class In Terms of Charging Consumers But Service Levels Are Worse

English translation of my column article which originally published in China Press on Febuary 28.

The KFC staff assaulting customer incident reached a respite after its senior management apologized to the victim. Of course, many of us are still waiting for the completion of police investigation and lawful censure of the guilty.

Although incidents of service over counter turning into physical blows are rare, what is undeniable is that our customer service level has much room for improvement especially when compared to other countries.

Just take a complaint I received recently as an example.

Connie, a voter, informed me of her unpleasant experience when purchasing a ticket from LRT ticketing counter recently. The counter staff actually asked her: "Awak ialah orang yang kurang upaya?" Connie was puzzled but replied that she was not. The flabbergasting and infuriating response from the counter staff was: "Kalau macam ini pergi beli kat mesin tiket!"

只欠东风张念群促首相走访昔加末时为华仁设分校捎佳音

民主行动党全国副宣传秘书兼沙登区国会议员张念群於吉隆坡发表文告：

随着第13届全国大选的脚步已尽，首相纳吉正积极的在全国走动。据闻，纳吉将在三月到访柔佛昔加末，我们希望纳吉届时能为昔加末以及全体柔佛人民带来好消息，即批准峇株巴轄华仁中学于昔加末开设分校的申请。

去年的8月31日国庆日，柔华总联合峇株巴辖五校董事会代表，趁着出席副揆开斋节开放门户，呈交在昔加末设华仁中学分校的备忘录给副首相兼教长丹斯里慕尤丁。

据了解，经过调查，来自昔加末逾2400名家长中，达89.6%的人支持政府以设立华仁分校的形式在昔加末复办独中。

此外，华仁分校已有一块12英亩的校地， 2400名昔加末家长中，也有67%以上表明会把孩子送进分校就读。可见，华仁分校的设立已是处于万事俱备，只欠东风的阶段。
