In working with the Chinese community to increase political consciousness, there is no doubt that many Chinese want change from the corrupt and racist BN regime. For many years, the news of the progress achieved by the Kelantan PAS government despite no assistance from the Federal BN government has been kept away from the public, but with the correct policies adopted by PAS in striving for racial harmony, in respecting the rights of non-Muslims to practise their culture and religion, and the simple lifestyle of the people-centric PAS leadership, plus the Internet, there is now more knowledge of what is really happening. With this awareness, more Chinese are opening their eyes and increasing their support for PAS. This support is genuinely based on mutual respect for people of all races and religions who want to see an end to racial politics of the type practised by MCA and UMNO. We all want to unite to develop this country for the benefit of the rakyat. This is the New Politics which the MCA fail to recognise. The largest Buddhist statue in Malaysia is in Tumpat, Kelantan, built in the year 2000. Lion dances are staged by the Chinese community in Kelantan up till this day. You can have a hearty meal with delicious pork dishes in a nice Chinese restaurant in Jalan Kebun Sultan, Kota Bharu. Or indulge in Bak Kut Teh in a coffee shop along the same street. Perhaps our Tourism Minister can help to publicise these attractions to get more Malaysians to visit Kelantan, instead of complaining about what PAS is telling Malaysians to eat this and that, or don't eat this and that. But she is not likely to do such a dangerous thing because when more Chinese go to Kelantan and learn the truth, this will only draw their support away from MCA/BN to PAS and Pakatan Rakyat. The support of the Chinese for Nizar Jamaludin in the Bukit Gantang by-election was solid because of what he had done in converting land titles for the Chinese occupying TOL land in the New Villages. Land is the basis of livelihood for the people in the New Villages. Even MCA's Dr. Ting Chew Peh commented that what MCA could not achieve in 50 years, PAS had done in a few months. We saw this support among the Chinese even in the villages of Kampung Sungai Rotan and Kampung Kuala Sepetang who were openly flying PAS flags and waving PAS fans. The Chinese who participated in Berseh 2.0 saw for themselves the actions of the PAS Unit Amal in protecting them from the attacks of the police. PAS treats the Chinese during the demonstration as fellow fighters, and respects them as "sahabat seperjuangan" who are willing to face the same risks in the struggle for free and fair elections. The Chinese were impressed and wrote about this on the Internet, how this has increased their confidence in PAS. The Hudud issue is used by MCA to frighten the Chinese by telling them that it will be "potong atas, potong bawah", but with proper explanation of what Hudud is really all about, Chinese are beginning to get rid of the poison fed to them by the mainstream media. Chinese who are honest, sincere, don't steal or cheat on their wives have no need to be scared of Hudud. Orang Tionghua yang jujur, ikhlas, tidak curi dan tidak berzinah tidak akan takut terhadap Hudud. No matter whether the Chinese is in DAP, PKR or PAS. In any case, Hudud is for Muslims only, including, of course Chinese Muslims. But some non-Muslim Chinese, after understanding Hudud, would like to see Hudud used even against non-Muslim MCA to punish them for their corruption and sexual escapades. With the lack of fairness by the BN Federal government in not allocating public funds to the states ruled by Pakatan Rakyat, it is not easy for those states to simply give money for populist policies, such as to every Chinese school. But the Chinese who are economically better off and patriotic to Malaysia will understand this situation and are ever willing to donate their energies and their money to help their fellow countrymen in PAS who have fought against the injustices of the BN government for more than 50 years. Malaysian Chinese patriots will stand shoulder-to-shoulder with them in Dewan Himpunan Penyokong PAS to fight to build a better Malaysia, to be ruled in fairness and justice by honest and sincere Malaysian leaders who will not invoke differences of ethnicity and faith to divide Malaysians. With honest government in place which has the interests of the rakyat at heart, patriotic Chinese will give of their expertise in business and the professions to help their less fortunate Malaysian brethren to improve their lives, in an environment of "prosper thy neighbour". There is no need for PAS to print money to help the rakyat. There is enough wealth from the natural resources of our beloved country, such as the oil and gas which is extracted even off the coast of Kelantan but not landed in Bachok, Kelantan but instead diverted to Songkhla in Thailand. If all of this wealth is used for the benefit of the rakyat and not siphoned off through corruption and waste by MCA/BN, there is enough to help all deserving Malaysian children to get a decent education, to equip them with the skills and knowledge needed to develop the nation, to make them loyal and responsible citizens. This will happen when Pakatan Rakyat takes over Putrajaya. Those Chinese who know this will happen will give their undying support to PAS, PKR and DAP in the coming PRU13.
