[Msiakini.TV] Police shot tear gas and sprayed chemical-laced water into Tung Shin Hospital Posted: 10 Jul 2011 08:19 AM PDT Police shot tear gas and sprayed water from water cannons into the compound of the Tung Shin Hospital along Jalan Pudu, according to two of its staff, in order to disperse the crowd from the Bersih 2.0 rally yesterday. One of the staff who is in charge of ambulance management, said that the police fired tear gas three times. He added the spray from the water cannons was unable to reach the main hospital, but hit a building in the compound. The middle-aged man who wanted to remain anonymous, said that the police started firing tear gas towards a group of people who gathered in front of the Chinese medicine hospital and the male staff hostel which are located beside the main building. [BERSIH 2.0] Aunty Bersih - The lady of liberty Posted: 10 Jul 2011 04:11 AM PDT ~ Photo by Peter Lim Annie Ooi Siew Lan, from setapak, took a bus ride down to KL, ALONE, in support of the rally. She was stopped 4 times, being asked her IC, and questioned by the police on why she's wearing yellow. "Why can't I wear yellow?" was her reply. She didn't know what time the rally was scheduled to start, she didn't know where, she has no one with her; all she knew was to get down to KL, and stand for what she believes in. (More......)
