BN's additional budget for JKKK/JKKKP which only exists in PR states

Posted: 23 Jun 2011 06:30 AM PDT

When an additional budget of RM13.2 billion was tabled in Parliament last week, Ministry Of Rural And Regional Development requested for RM150 million in order to increase the allowance of Chairperson of JKKK/JKKKP (Jawatankuasa Kemajuan dan Keselamatan Kampung / Jabatan Keselamatan & Kesihatan Pekerjaan), or commonly known as Village Head from RM450/mth to RM800/mth. I have no objection to the raise of allowance. But I don't see the point of setting up JKKKP in Pakatan Rakyat states.

JKKKP only exists in Pakatan Rakyat states after “308” political tsunami . In Penang there are 142 JKKKP while in Selangor we have 444 JKKKP. RM800 for the village head each month, RM200 for the secretary, RM100 as monthly meeting allowance, RM50 for each member attends the monthly meeting. In total we have at least spent RM42 million for JKKKP in these 2 states in the past 3 years. (More......)

dap new members 300108 teo nie chingIn a statement today, DAP assistant publicity secretary Teo Nie Ching (right) said that the Najib administration must also commit to adopting the RCI's recommendations for the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission.

"At least RM1 million of taxpayers' money was spent on the RCI. It will be (a) futile (exercise) if the final report and findings of the RCI are not accessible to the public.

"The rakyat has the right to read the final report as their hard-earned money has been spent in establishing the RCI," she said.

Teo, who is also the Serdang MP, notes that similar commissions in the past, such as the RCI on police performance in 2005 and the RCI on the VK Lingam video controversy in 2007, were made public.
