Wesak Day Greetings

I would like to extend my greetings and best wishes to all Buddhists on this special day.


The teachings of the Lord Buddha especially on the subject of peace has brought tremendous benefits to his believers all over the world including Malaysia.

Let us use the occasion of the birth of his Holiness Lord Buddha to become even more aware of the challenges that the nation is facing at this particular period of our history.

We must remember that whatever we do today, the results would only be appreciated in the future.

Similarly, if we choose not to act now, our children and their children may suffer the consequences.

Thus I urge everyone to dare to stand up for truth and justice and what better time to start doing that than on this special day, Wesak Day which is of course a triple celebration of the birth, enlightenment and the passing of the Lord Buddha.

I wish all celebrating Buddhists a Happy and Blessed Wesak Day.
