200 RECEIVED AID Posted: 06 Nov 2012 02:00 AM PST KUALA LUMPUR, 28 AUGUST 2012 : Chempaka state assemblyman Iskandar A. Samad recently distributed Hari Raya aid to about 200 recipients. Iskandar A. Pic by Syarafiq Abd Samad The recipients were single mothers, senior citizens and orphans living around the Pandan Indah area. The event was held at Pusat Tarbiyah Pandan, a centre for the single mothers.    "The aim of this event is to lessen the burden of people in need in our society," said Iskandar. Apart from distributing goodies worth RM100, single mothers and senior citizens also received RM100 duit raya while the orphans received RM10 each. Azizah Shaari, 46, who received the aid said she was glad that the less fortunate were not forgotten during the festive season. "This is the first time that I have received such a contribution," said Azizah. Intan Nur Shafinaz Abdullah, 11, was also happy with her gift. "Although my father left me and my family, I am still fortunate that there are people who still care about me," said Intan - Story by Seri Nor Nadiah Koris, NST.
