How many Mat Salleh have MAS gone through? Too many and yet still in the shit. There goes to show that we we need a local Melayu,Chinese or Indian to fix things for MAS. We need good Malaysians to run MAS without interference.

Get rid of Shanon, Martin Burrow and the like. That may just help MAS.

Let’s all take a step back to see how MAS’ performance has deteriorated since its glory days. Look at how SIA has grown and MAS has shrunk since MSA was split in the 60s. What MAS is today is not do the recent oil shocks and competition but is MAS own doing. When jet fuel prices were low, MAS can afford to be fat and inefficient. Times have changed and competition is tougher but MAS continues to be managed like a not-for-profit organization which always depends on the lifeline thrown by government every time it screws up. MAS employees should realize that the money injected to bail the company over the last decade could be put to better use than be wasted on an unprofitable business. The airline is industry is a very competitive – just see SIA’s fourth quarter results and unless we wake up, and without the support of the MAS employees to help improve productivity and at the same time downsize, I am confident we will be seeing many more rounds of cash injections by the tax-payers.

it is sad to see what is happening to MAS. Shane has a PA too by name of Looi. Both are from Plane Consult and Looi is very demanding with the malay ladies in revenue management. Sometimes, I feel we are under the Irish colony and the local cannot speak up. if you do, your name will go to danny…

Your warning about PlaneConsult is very true. They have been given a blank cheque to implement “plans” and even to “recommend” who to hire. Since they are also AA’s consultant (MD of PlaneConsult sits on AA Board) , obviously to them the most “qualified” people to be hired by the newly-structured MAS must be from AA . The portfolio of airlines that PlaneConsult have been consulting to reads like the pages of “Failed Airlines of the world”. Has anyone today heard of Deccan Air for example?
So, with the combined “brilliance” of AJ and Danny, and endorsed by an AA-dominated MAS Board , MAS is paying them more than RM3mill (after rough conversion from the Euro), not including out of pocket expenses, for FOUR month’s work. Other perks thrown in are business class tickets to balik kampong after every 4 weeks. In practice, these consultants sit in MAS offices and gets the staff to actually compile the data , implement their “recommendations” etc. because in the consultancy contract, they have FULL access to staff and info and FULL authority to give the orders.
So MAS hires a consultant to low cost airlines to turn around a full-service airline. MAS is by now, the laughing stock of its competitors, especially the one down south.
MAS full year financial results is due to be announced next week. We hear the announcement will be postponed. The numbers must be so frightening. News is that MAS is so cash-strapped that getting by operationally is a challenge. With this scenario, and the plans to spend big money as described by Recalcitrant, we can only conclude that AJ, Danny and the Board must be hallucinating. Let us see how the new CFO from AA will conjure up some accounting acrobatics to put a spin to the numbers, he has has ample experience in AA on this, so I am sure that was the skill set that got him hired by MAS .

Beware of the consultant “Plane Consult”. Shane … is now preparing a big secret project to destroy MAS business. He is an Irish idiot who doesn’t understand how full service airline works. All he knew is the low cost airline strategy that is not compatible with MAS. Very stupid of MAS management to appoint this idiot as Commercial Director when he doesn’t understand the commercial aspect of MAS.

Sad sad story of MAS is continuing again. MAS is doomed.

I heard now the simulator/training center also want to be sell.. gosh what happened all those clown all the profit thing they want to sell… they should learn from the history where tajudding sell all MAS treasure, now MAS become like pemintak sedekah already, if they sell training center and engineering, MAS got nothing, only their underwear left, and one day, they will let go their underwear also…. so sad… may god strike them with lightning one day..padan muka

Saya tak setuju dengan pandangan Sdr…Isu MAS+AIRASIA bukan setakat isu di kedua-dua Syarikat sahaja tapi dah jadi isu Nasional.

Saya yakin semua rakyat sedang mengikuti perkembangan masalah ni begitu juga dengan kerajaan..PM Najib tak kan nak diamkan diri aja…

Jadi sebagai pekerja MAS anda semua ada hak..ini bukan negara yang tiada undang-undang. Apa yang penting kita harus tau memainkan peranan. Sekarang bukan masa perkerja boleh di cucuk hidung sesuka hati oleh tuan-tuan majikan.

Undang-undang juga membenarkan pekerja berpiket..apa salahnya.tapi perlu ikut paraturan lah.

Pada saya bantahan yang sedang dibuat adalah jalan terbaik untuk memberikan gambaran sebenar kepada pihak kerajaan..

Yes indeed it’s not only a national tragedy committed by those who were entrusted with the responsibility to assist in the national economic development but it is a plain and simple sabotage of the whole system. A simple trishaw pedlar asked that simple question how could a smaller company dictating terms on a bigger company, how that small company be so brazen to demand that further developments be conducted with their consent.

Yes as most people on the street keep asking that topical question “Who,s behind these conspiracy to undermine the economic development of the country. It could have started when Idris Jala was made the CEO and he brought in professionals who do not have any inkling of airline industry. The asset stripping was actually the straw that broke the camel’s back.
And these while the Govt has been keeping mum – why?
Shareholders of MAS also has been very quiet too.
Simple logic has become very complex and illogical.
Qua vadis Najib?
