【南洋商报】沙登岭华小无进展 . 张念群促魏家祥交代 Posted: 03 Apr 2011 07:54 AM PDT When I raised the issue relating to the progress of four new Chinese Vernacular Schools approved by the Federal Government since 2008 in Parliament on 24 Mac 2011, Deputy Minister of Education Datuk Wee Ka Siong tried to beat around the bush and put the blame on Selangor State Government for not approving the lands for the school construction. However, the reality is on Oct 2010 the Selangor State government has issued a letter of support to award four pieces of land for the purpose of building four Chinese primary schools. The issue now is, these schools need to get Education Ministry's approval in order to kick off the construction project. 【星洲日报】下雨斜坡泥土流失 ‧ 建阶梯水沟土崩获改善 Posted: 03 Apr 2011 06:41 AM PDT Tempat: Taman Bukit Serdang, Seri Kembangan. Cerun bukit di Jalan Taman Bukit Serdang 1/12 yang sebelum ini dilaporkan mengalami hakisan tanah sewaktu hujan lebat yang boleh merosakkan kestabilan struktur tanah dan seterusnya mengancam keselamatan penghuni telah berjaya ditangani dengannya pembinaan "Cascade Drain". Setelah menerima aduan daripada penghuni-penghuni setempat pada bulan Januari, Ahli Parlimen Serdang Saudari Teo Nie Ching bersama pejabat perkhidmatan DAP Seri Kembangan telah meminta MPKj menjalankan projek pembaikpulihan di kawasan tersebut. Berikutan aduan yang diterima, pihak MPKj telah melantik kontraktor pada 1 Februari dan kerja pembinaan "Cascade Drain" bagi menampal cerun bukit yang terhakis oleh air hujan dijalan dengan mengambil masa lebih kurang satu minggu dan siap dibina pada 9 Februari. 张念群（中）巡视已完工的阶梯式水沟，了解实际情况；左起为娜尼及戴祯兴，右起为唐竟发及阿兹莎。（图：星洲日报） 之后--排水沟的运作情况良好，周遭的斜坡也没有再出现泥土流失的情况。（图：星洲日报） 之前--根据市议会提供的照片，大水沟旁边的斜坡出现泥土流失的情形，如今在斜坡上兴建了阶梯式排水沟，雨水能直接流到大水沟内，顺利解决问题。（图：星洲日报） 焦点地区：沙登大学岭1／12路 （雪兰莪‧沙登2日讯）沙登大学岭1／12路的大型排水沟因旁边的斜坡出现轻微土崩，恐影响排水系统的操作，惟经过梳邦再也市议会的维修，目前已解决泥土流失问题。 (More......)

[Newsflash] Teluk Intan MP and Tamil Students arrested at protest against INTERLOK Posted: 03 Apr 2011 12:41 AM PDT Source: Malaysiakini Teluk Intan Member of Parliament M Manogaran was arrested along with MS Arjunan from the Malaysian Tamil Students Progressive Associations (MATSAP) while demonstrating against the Interlok novel. Manogaran (second from right), who is from the DAP, and Arjunan (far right) had arrived with a small crowd of activitists earlier this morning at the Subraminiyar temple at Batu Caves in Gombak, Selangor, to protest against the decision of the education ministry to make Interlok compulsory reading for Form Five students taking Malay literature in the SPM exams. Police moved in and arrested Manogaran and Arjunan around noon. 【当今大马】黑风洞抗议政府拒撤连环扣 . 行动党国会议员遭警方逮捕 虽然政府已决定在部分修改《连环扣》内容，但该小说所引发的风波却继续延烧。行动党安顺国会议员马诺卡兰（M Manogaran，右图右二）今天抗议政府坚持不撤除《连环扣》作为中五课本时，遭到警方逮捕。 马诺卡兰今早跟一小群的民众，到鹅唛著名的黑风洞兴都庙聚集抗议。 跟他一起被捕的还有一名来自大马淡米尔学生前进协会的阿祖南（MS Arjunan，上图右一）。 他们两人在中午时分遭到警方逮捕，并且被带返鹅唛警区总部。 《连环扣》掀起印裔抗议 数个单位包括非政府组织早前，针对《连环扣》的第211页与220页内容而向政府提出强烈的抗议，并指本书内容含有触及部分族群的敏感元素。一些组织更集体报警，甚至焚烧该书以表达他们的极度不满。 (More......)
