Allow alternative to Puspakom

Posted: 28 Jun 2012 03:19 AM PDT

Malaysia has only one vehicle inspection company, Puspakom, that monopolizes the service. The Government signs concession agreement and additional agreement with Puspakom to ensure its service and to prevent irregularities such as corruption. We continue to receive complaints of irregularities about Puspakom. The Government should consider seriously an alternative to Puspakom. Let vehicle owners have an alternative. This will encourage a healthy competition, transparency and better service.
