Datuk freed after ransom paid Thursday May 17, 2012 KUALA LUMPUR: A Datuk was kidnapped and held captive for 10 hours before he was released. The 56-year-old who owns a construction business was kidnapped by three men near Rawang at 1.40pm on Monday. He was having lunch with his worker in a restaurant when he was approached by the suspects. They dragged him to a car parked outside the restaurant and bundled him into it before fleeing. According to a source, the suspects contacted his family members and asked for a RM100,000 ransom. He said the family members dropped the money at an undisclosed location a few hours later and the victim was released unharmed. "He was dropped off at Kuala Selangor at about 11pm the same night," said the source yesterday.  |
