| Posted: 12 Feb 2013 01:02 AM PST Anyone who wants to predict Sabah result in the coming general elections should take a peek at Sarawak state election held in 2011. At that time, Anwar Ibrahim and other Pakatan leaders were criss-crossing the state, giving fiery ceramah full of character assassination, wild allegations and demonization of BN leaders, with many of their ceramahs were well attended by a lot of curious people. Not a day passed by without Pakatan making sensational and outlandish claims against BN. But in the end, when the results were known, not only Sarawak BN won the state election, it won it handsomely with clear two thirds majority. I believe the same thing will happen in Sabah. Pakatan brand of politics of demonization, populism and hatred ness has reached feverish pitch in Sabah. But it is for these very same reasons, I strongly believe, Sabahans will reject Pakatan outrght just like Sarawakians did in 2011. Sabahans want a party which has clear direction and solid experence in developing the state. They want a party wth steady hands to captain the state towards vision 2020. That party is Barisan Nasional and the captains are Datuk Ser Najib Tun Razak and Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Aman. Regrettably but predictably, Pakatan instead chose to go to the people of Sabah without realistic economic blueprint and visionary future. It chose to be arrogant, ignorant, petty and small minded, preferring splitting unity and pitting Malaysians with each other in the hope that divided people will be easier to convinced and manipulated for their own narrow interests. In Sarawak election, PKR was adamant to be given the biggest seat allocation among Pakatan's allies. DAP and PAS reluctantly gave in and allowed PKR to contest in 49 seats out of 71 in Sarawak state election. Anwar Ibrahim demanded the largest share of seats claiming PKR had the biggest support among Sarawakians. When the results were announced, PKR only won 3 miserable seats out of the 49 contested. In comparisan, DAP won 12 out of 15 it contested. Soon enough, PKR's greediness became the favourite joke of Sarawakians in the coffee shops for many months after the election. Once again, I am convinced the same thing will happen in Sabah. |
