Press Statement By Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng In Komtar George Town On 15.1.2013.

Following the shocking comments by Datuk Dr Nik Zamri the consultant of the so-called RM75 billion mixed development project in Balik Pulau, the state government hereby states that it will not even consider nor evaluate it even if they get approval from the Federal government or endorsement from the NGOs. The Penang state government wishes to emphasize that this so-called project simply does not exist as it has not even been evaluated much less approved.

The Penang state government had stated that this so-called project would only be evaluated upon getting approval from the Federal government. The consultant’s comments in the Malay Mail today is untrue in saying that this is not the actual position of the state government as it is intended to divert attention as the general election is around the corner.

As such, the state government will not even consider the project even if prior approval is obtained from the federal governement or endorsement from the NGOs. If the consultant is so confident of getting state government approval, then he can sue the state government for the RM5 million allegedly spent by them on preparing the EIA or involved in getting Federal government approval and see whether he can get back the amount spent.

The state government is confident that the consultant will not get back a single cent as there is no previous commitment or even consideration by the state government. There is simply no such project in Balik Pulau.

槟州首席部长林冠英于2013年1月15日在光大乔治市发表声明：

随着拿督聂占里以浮罗山背价值750亿令吉综合发展计划顾问的身分发表惊人的言论，州政府再次重申，就算他们获得联邦政府的批准或非政府组织的背书，州政府也不会考虑、也不会评估这项工程。槟州政府要再次重申，这项所谓的发展项目根本不存在，它还未被评估，也还未被批准。

槟州政府已经声明，这个项目只有在联邦政府许可后，才会进行评估。上述顾问在《马来邮报》的言论是不正确的，他说这不是州政府的正确立场，由于大选将近，州政府只是在转移视线。

因此，就算这项计划获得联邦政府批准、或获得非政府组织的认可，州政府也根本不会考虑这项计划。如果上述顾问那么有信心可以获得州政府的批准 ，那么他们大可起诉州政府，指州政府令他们花费500令吉准备环境评估报告，或寻求联邦政府批准，看看他能不能拿回他所花费的金钱。

州政府很有把握，这名顾问肯定拿不回一分钱，因为州政府在之前根本没有承诺过什么以、也没有考虑过。 总之，浮罗山背根本没有这个项目。
