Kenyataan Media : Najib minta satu penggal lagi untuk bawa pembangunan , rakyat sudah tunggu 12 penggal

Posted: 22 Sep 2012 05:12 AM PDT

6 Zulkaedah 1433H. [MOD] -

Mat Zain: Musa Hassan’s Admission Over Anwar’s DNA Proves False Evidence Claims

Posted: 21 Sep 2012 11:34 AM PDT

The Malaysian Insider

Tan Sri Musa Hassan's recent admission that he took blood samples from Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's "black eye" probe for DNA testing in Sodomy I proves he had helped fabricate evidence during the 1998 case, a former senior police officer said today.

Ex-KL CID chief Datuk Mat Zain Ibrahim, who was the investigating officer during the famous "black eye" incident, had previously accused Musa (picture) of taking the samples without the doctor's and Anwar's approval to convict the latter of sodomy.

In an open letter to Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar today, Mat Zain pointed out that Musa's admission during his May interview with Malaysiakini was enough to kickstart investigations against the former IGP.

He said he was not surprised by the ensuing silence from Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail following Musa's admission, repeating allegations that it was the Attorney-General himself who was the main culprit behind the fabrication of evidence leading to Anwar's imprisonment.

"Musa's admission on May 31, although brief, was enough to validate all that I have reported against the two of them (Musa and Abdul Gani) before," he said in the open letter released to the media today.

Mat Zain has repeatedly accused both Abdul Gani and Musa, who was then Bukit Aman's assistant criminal investigation chief, of deliberately falsifying evidence during Sodomy I and Anwar's black-eye probe.

In the interview with Malaysiakini in May, Musa had admitted that he had used Anwar's blood samples for DNA testing on the mattress in Sodomy I, but stressed that this had been according to procedure.

According to the published interview, Musa had explained that the samples were taken after Anwar's wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, told the BBC that her husband may have been injected with the HIV while he was under police custody.

"When she made such allegations, I had to make a report as I was afraid the police force was being slandered. Under the law, the police or doctors could ask for blood samples to be tested.

"I took it to check for AIDS. It is not as though I cheated. All this was done according to procedure," Musa was quoted as saying by the news portal.

He later added: "Yes, I did use the blood for DNA tests. I used it to test on the mattress.

"I have to conduct a full investigation as the allegations in the book '50 reasons why Anwar cannot be PM' was extensive as there was the affair at the Tivoli Villa and other allegations."

In his letter today, Mat Zain predicted that Musa would soon find himself trapped by his own words.

"But I am not worried if he (Musa) alone has to bear the consequences of his own actions. Unfortunately, these revelations of his would likely also bring shame to some of our police officers who have worked with integrity," he said.

Mat Zain urged Ismail to consider reopening the corruption case against former Economic Planning Unit (EPU) chairman Tan Sri Ali Abul Hassan, which he said had been forcibly ordered closed during the 2000 power abuse allegations against former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

The matter, he said, was yet another conspiracy involving both Abdul Gani and Musa, both of whom he claimed had made conflicting statements in the press regarding the probe on Dr Mahathir.

Mat Zain pointed out that although the police had not been the authority investigating Ali Abul, it was the KL police who had taken the then Anti-Corruption Agency's (ACA) investigation papers for examination while they were probing Dr Mahathir for power abuse.

"What I am saying here is that the ACA themselves had felt that the case against Ali Abul should not have been closed by the AGC (Attorney-General's Chambers), as they were still in mid-probe when the orders to shut the matter were made.

"In short, the closure of the case against Ali Abul was done under extraordinary circumstances and creates suspicion among those who were probing the matter," he said.

Mat Zain added in his letter to Ismail that both the issues he had raised — Musa's admission, and Musa's and Abdul Gani's "suspicious" role in Ali Abul's case — were enough reason for the police to open investigations on the duo.

Thousands in KL protest anti-Islam film

Posted: 21 Sep 2012 09:32 AM PDT

Thousands of Muslims shed their political differences and thronged the streets of the capital this afternoon to condemn the controversial “Innocence of Muslims” video, a short film mocking the Prophet Muhammad that has fuelled international fury and wreaked a storm of violent protests across the Muslim world.

Two simultaneous rallies — one by Umno Youth and another by PAS Youth — drew large crowds of angry protestors to different checkpoints across the city, all chanting praises to Allah and taunting the United States as they pushed their way through the mob.

Outside the Tabung Haji building on Jalan Tun Razak, the protest led by PAS and PKR’s youth wings was joined by at least 5,000 people, including those from Islamic non-governmental organisations Teras Pengupayaan Umat (Teras), Himpunan Hijau Putrajaya, Salamah Shah Alam and Angkatan Belia Islam (ABIM).

The group gathered shortly before 2pm before marching down the 1km stretch to the US Embassy in Lorong Kuda, waving flags of PAS, Malaysia and a modified version of the pre-independence flag Sang Saka, and yelling “Down with America and Zionism”.

Demonstrators burn a banner that depicts both the US and Israel flags outside the US embassy in Kuala Lumpur September 21, 2012.

“This is not just an Islamic cause, it is a human one. Anyone who insults any religion, it is an insult to humanity itself,” said PKR vice president Tian Chua in his speech to the crowd.

Four representatives ― PKR vice president Nurul Izzah Anwar, Tian Chua, PAS Youth chief Nasruddin Hassan Tantawi and Teras president Azmi Abdul Hamid ― were allowed to present a memorandum to the embassy’s security office, which was received by its head of security.

“America must take full responsibility for this issue. We will show that the patience of Muslims and the non-Muslims is limited.

“If they go on with this, we will take more action,” Azmi told reporters after presenting the memorandum.

The crowd then burned paper printouts of the American and Israeli flags.Later, ACP Mohan Singh from Cheras district police headquarters told reporters the estimated turnout was 2,800 protesters at the embassy.

"We diverted traffic, as ordered, allowed them to protest, there were no untoward incidents and after presenting the memorandum, they dispersed.

We are content because this protest was done peacefully,” Mohan said.

Barely 5km across the city at the iconic Masjid Jamek in Jalan Tun Perak, Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin led over 2,000 people, including members of Malay rights group Perkasa, Majlis Belia Malaysia and Puteri Umno, to protest the controversial film.

Khairy (right) addresses the crowd during an Umno Youth protest against an anti-Islam movie, at Masjed Jamek in Kuala Lumpur.

The Rembau MP praised PAS for agreeding to shed its political differences and take a stand along with Umno for the sake of Muslim solidarity.

“Two days ago, I phoned PAS’s Nasrudin Tantawi and together we agreed to put aside our differences.

“Umno Youth gathers today in solidarity with PAS, unlike their political allies,” Khairy said, criticising PAS’s partners in Pakatan Rakyat (PR) for not joining the party in today’s protests.

The crowd was seen carrying banners and flags professing belief in the Prophet Muhammad and calling for action to be taken by the French and United States governments against those who made the video and the cartoon.

“Our enemy is not the United States, France or any other religion, but those involved in the film and the cartoon,” Khairy said.

“We want both governments to take action against these people. The freedom of speech has its limits and must have a care for respect and responsibility.”

US embassies worldwide have all been placed on high alert following protests against the controversial video, which have even led to the death of a US ambassador and three other Americans last week during a protest at the US consulate in the Libyan city of Benghazi.

The crudely made 13-minute English-language film that mocks the Prophet Muhammad was produced by American Sam Bacile, filmed in California and circulated on the Internet under several titles including “Innocence of Muslims”.

Clips of the film posted on the Internet since July have been attributed to Bacile, which two people linked to the film have said was likely an alias.

For many Muslims, any depiction of the prophet is blasphemous. Caricatures deemed insulting in the past have provoked protests and drawn condemnations from officials, preachers, ordinary Muslims and many Christians.

Pakatan Janjikan Rumah Mampu Dimiliki, Selepas Kereta Murah, Pendidikan Percuma

Posted: 20 Sep 2012 05:47 PM PDT

92% Pangsapuri Kos Rendah Terima Air Percuma

Posted: 20 Sep 2012 05:30 PM PDT

Hanya Pihak Kecewa Bangkitkan Isu Air

Posted: 20 Sep 2012 03:30 AM PDT

"Peliknya apabila kerajaan Pakatan memperkenalkan dasar kebajikan mereka pula kelam kabut.

Tight rope

You have raised some very valid points.

If you think back to the days of Malaysia-Singapore Airline (MSA) and the politics that led to MSA splitting into MAS and SIA, you will realise that the 2 airlines have been on very divergent growth paths.

Enough has been written about that.

The problem is that the lessons that could have been learnt from that split-up and the subsequent developments have not been grasped and understood by the relevant decision makers in Malaysia.

Yesterday I read a Reuters report titled “JAL makes a modest return to Tokyo exchange”. Parts of that report are quoted here, as there are considerable similarities to the predicament that MAS is now in.

“The carrier, also known as JAL, was delisted after it went bankrupt in 2010 but has since carried out cost cuts and restructured to return to solid profitability. It’s 663 billion (RM24.9 billion) IPO nearly doubled the 350 billion yen that went into its government-backed bailout…….

“Once Japan’s flagship carrier and a national icon known for courteous service and punctuality, JAL symbolised the country’s economic rise and then it’s stagnation as it struggled with a bloated workforce, unpopular routes and safety lapses.

“Kazuo Inamori, one of Japan’s most celebrated entrepreneurs as founder of both ceramics maker Kyocera Corp and mobile carrier KDDI Corp, oversaw the airline’s restructuring after it applied for bankruptcy after racking up mountains of debt.

“Since its default, JAL has trimmed a third of its payroll, investing in low-cost carriers, retiring its big jets in favour of smaller ones suitable for regional hauls and changing its routes to emphasise international routes rather than sluggish domestic ones……

“JAL’s comeback has drawn criticism that the government-backed bailout might have been unfair to its rival carrier in Japan, All Nippon Airways (ANA) which made gains when JAL was struggling.

“Japan Airlines posted a profit of 187 billion yen for the fiscal year ended March 2012, while All Nippon Airways recorded a 28 billion profit for the fiscal year through March 2012.

“The industry remains highly competitive, and Japanese increasingly are no longer so loyal as they used to be to national carriers. Meanwhile, budget airlines and Chinese carriers with significantly lower cost bases are challenging both JAL and ANA on both domestic and international routes, the CAPA – Centre for Aviation said in a recent report.

“It praised JAL’s decision to shift its focus to overseas markets. “It’s plan is a solid start, and remarkable when considering the inefficiencies in the carrier at the start of the decade,” it added.”

Note the key points in the report: bloated workforce, unpopular routes, safety lapses, cost cuts, restructuring, trimmed a third of its payroll, invested in low-cost carriers, retired its big jets in favour of smaller ones, changed its routes network, brought in an entrepreneur to oversee its restructuring.

All of that without any adverse reactions from JAL’s workers and unions.

Are the lessons so difficult for MAS to learn and apply?

How come when the main agreement between MAS and AA is cancelled, the corresponding swaps of routes are not reverted? This is one-sided and not to MAS advantage. Long-term, MAS will turn from gold into rusty iron. At the same time, you can appoint Dr Mohd Don or whoever you want to the board of directors or management but I think nothing will come out of it as nobody wants to admit that whatever decisions that had been done the past one year has been wrong decisions. Top management keeps sweeping things under the carpet and AJ hasn’t even come up with a clear business plan for the staff to work on. The investors also want to know when MAS will make money and declare dividends. One quarter losing less than the previous one doesn’t mean a profit is made. A loss is still a loss! Harping and hoping on the new Airbus 380 and joining One World Alliance to make money is still questionable. Is the Airbus flying full everyday? And what is the expected revenue when One World is online? Can anybody answer these questions? It’s no wonder that the share price is below par and the staff morale is still low. Work out a profit plan, AJ!
