JEREBU KEMBALI LAGI, HUJAN PAGI MEREDEKAN KEADAAN

Posted: 16 Jun 2012 09:12 PM PDT

Sale of Maju Expressway Scuppered?

No nod for Maju Expressway sale, Putrajaya tells Parliament
By Shannon Teoh June 14, 2012

KUALA LUMPUR, June 14 — The controversial RM1.7 billion sale of the Maju Expressway (MEX) appears to be scuppered for now after the federal government said it had not approved the sale of the concession held by Maju Holdings.

The Prime Minister's Department said in a written reply to a parliamentary question by Petaling Jaya Utara MP Tony Pua (picture) yesterday that no permission has been given for the deal due to "several policy matters related to this highway concession that must be studied by the government."

"The government has never given permission in relation to the proposal for the sale of the KL-Putrajaya Highway to EP Manufacturing Berhad (EPMB)," it said.

Maju Holdings had hoped to walk away with RM668 million in profit.
[Tony: It's RM1.09 billion in profit!]
But the DAP publicity chief told The Malaysian Insider that "while it appears the deal is off, the answer only says it has not but does not say it will not give approval."

EPMB had in March entered into an acquisition agreement with Maju Holdings to acquire MEX for RM1.15 billion and also assume debts totalling RM550 million, valuing the deal at a total cost of RM1.7 billion.

This would allow Maju Holdings, controlled by Tan Sri Abu Sahid Mohamed, to walk away with a "whopping" return of RM668 million, taking into account that the construction cost of RM1.3 billion was offset by a huge government grant of RM976 million.

MEX is 96.8 per cent owned by Maju Holdings, in which Abu Sahid controls a 91 per cent stake.

The opposition had promised the same month to buy back the MEX concession if it took over federal power after a coming general election and later called the deal a "rape" of taxpayers perpetrated by Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad while he was still prime minister.

Pua had said the concession agreement was awarded "on a silver platter" to Abu Sahid in 1997 and revised in 2003 just prior to Dr Mahathir's retirement.

"The rape of Malaysian taxpayers which made a billionaire out of Abu Sahid... is simply outrageous and unacceptable because out of his 'profit', RM976.7 million was paid for by Malaysian taxpayers," he said, referring to the grant which was worth 74 per cent of the RM1.32 billion construction cost.

Pua said it was the former Umno president who made the decision to offer the RM976.7 million grant instead of a loan, allowing Abu Sahid to cash out quickly.

EC Powerful or Powerless?

EC indeed has power to reject registration, says DAP
Kuek Ser Kuang Keng
1:39PM Jun 6, 2012

DAP today attempted to prove that contrary to the Election Commission's (EC) earlier claim, the panel actually has the power to reject the registration of voters with incomplete or inaccurate details.

During a press conference held at the party's headquarters this morning, DAP parliamentary leader Lim Kit Siang and national publicity secretary Tony Pua (right) furnished the party's records that showed voter registration forms submitted to the commission had been rejected due to various reasons.

These reasons include the addresses given by the voters were different from the addresses recorded in their MyKad, voters did not state their religion in the forms or they had given a different religion from the one recorded in their MyKad.

Those forms were submitted to the state EC office last year by DAP assistant registrars appointed by the EC.

"They told us the forms were incomplete so they were rejected, so it is within their power to do so," Tony said.

"Hence the comment made by the EC chairperson Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof was completely reckless. He was trying to defend the indefensible action of registering dodgy voters to support the government."

Pua was referring to Abdul Aziz's statement to Malaysiakini yesterday that the commission has no right to reject the registration of voters with incomplete and dubious addresses as long as they are in the records of the National Registration Department (NRD).

If these registrations receive no objection from local residents and are subsequently gazetted, whatever critics have to comment would have no effect unless the voters themselves applied for changes, Abdul Aziz added.

Abdul Aziz was asked to comment on political researcher Ong Kian Ming's recent findings that many new voters registered by a government agency (not the EC) have code 71 in their identity numbers but without house numbers and street names.

Code 71 indicates that those voters were born outside of Malaysia.

The lack of complete addresses make it difficult for political parties to trace these voters and verify if they are valid voters in the areas they are registered.

Ong further raised the question whether these dubious voters were given identity cards by the NRD to vote in the election.

Election Commission - BN Colludes to Cheat

'EC-BN collusion clear in snub S'gor call'
Kuek Ser Kuang Keng
2:39PM Jun 6, 2012

The DAP sees "clear evidence of collusion" between the Election Commission (EC) and the BN, based on calls to the public to snub the Selangor government's voter verification exercise.

"There can't be clearer evidence of collusion between the EC and the BN especially Umno," said DAP national publicity secretary Tony Pua at a press conference this morning.

"It is completely illogical because the EC should be thanking the Selangor government for cleaning up the electoral roll for them ... (instead) the EC is defending a dirty electoral roll... If the electoral roll is clean, why are they so afraid of our cleaning exercise?"

Pua was responding to EC deputy chairperson Wan Ahmad Wan Omar's advice to voters not to cooperate with the Selangorku Bersih campaign, as he is worried this may "create uneasiness".

Wan Ahmad reportedly said the public have the right to decide whether or not they want to show their MyKad to campaign workers, and advised against handing over the document too easily.

He was echoing Selangor Umno deputy chief Noh Omar's stance that the campaign amounts to abuse of power as only the EC has the authority to verify voters' identity.

Selangor Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim (left in photo) had recently launched the campaign, which is mobilising civil servants and village development and security committee members to clean up the electoral roll.

They will conduct house-to-house visits to verify the identity of voters registered at the addresses and raise objections should they fail to locate the voters.

This is in response to the discovery of a spike in the number of voters in the state.

Pakatan Rakyat has alleged that this may involve irregularities and fraud, including the registration of foreigners as voters, and the transfer of voters into the state.

RM 13.8 Billion 2012 Supplementary Budget This June Is Another Example Of BN’s 3Ds Of Deficits, Debts And Deceit As Compared To PR’s State Government’s Record Of 3S Surplus, Sustainable Debt Reduction And Straight Talking.(en/cn)

Posted: 16 Jun 2012 12:42 AM PDT

BN's RM13.8 billion 2012 supplementary budget tabled this June in Parliament is another example of BN's 3Ds of Deficits, Debts and Deceit as compared to PR's state government's record of 3S Surplus, Sustainable debt reduction and Straight talking. When this figure is added to the projected RM 45.9 billion projected deficit in the 2012 budget, we would arrive at a total deficit of RM 59.7 billion, the highest in Malaysian history.

This would easily put Malaysia's deficit as a % of GDP at more than 6% in 2012, which is significantly higher than the initially projected 4.7%, especially if the widely anticipated worldwide economic slowdown hits Malaysia. The fiscal irresponsibility of the BN government is proven by the fact that the additional funds will be spent on the extra RM 1.5 million allocation to BN MPs from this supplementary budget while non-BN MPs including those from Pakatan Rakyat will be given nothing.

The already bloated Prime Minister's Department has asked for an additional RM112m to spend including RM30m for a National Branding Unit. One wonders why Malaysia needs a Branding Unit when there are already existing Ministries such as the Tourism Ministry and Agencies such as MATRADE which promote Malaysia and Malaysian companies within and outside the country.

Good companies which make good products coupled with good governments which implement good policies are sufficient to increase the brand profile of a country. Just think of what Samsung has done for Korea and what Apple has done for the United States, without the need of a National Branding Unit.

An additional RM360m has been allocated to the Election Commission and yet the EC cannot even do a proper job of cleaning up the electoral roll not to mention implementing some of the proposals of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Electoral Reform.

The strategy of going to the taxpayers to fund more of its irresponsible spending habits is not something new for the BN. It requested for an additional RM 13.2 billion in June 2011 and an additional RM 10.3 billion in March 2012 for the 2011 Budget.

As of Quarter 1 of 2012, government debt stood at RM 470 billion. If we include the expected deficit from the 2012 budget, our government debt will easily increase to beyond RM500b by the end of the 2012. And this does not even include the worrying increase in the contingent liabilities that are not officially on the books.

These contingent liabilities are loans which will be paid by the taxpayer if the companies in question such as MAS have to be bailed out. Estimates of these contingent liabilities at the end of 2011 stand at approximately RM 110 billion. If contingent liabilities are added to official government debt, our debt to GDP ratio would stand at over 65% at the end of 2012, which is well above the statutory limit of 55% debt to GDP ratio.

The last time this country ran a budget surplus was in 1997 when Anwar Ibrahim was still the finance minister. Since 1997, we have experience 15 consecutive years of budget deficits. Our government debt has increased from RM 89 billion to RM 470 billion as at march 2012. Our government debt has increased 5 fold since 1997 while our GDP has only increased by threefold.

In contrast to BN's dismal financial performance, PR state governments have recorded surplus after surplus every year and even managed to reduce our debts sustainably.

Penang reduced our debts by a whopping 95% or RM600 million from RM630 million to only RM30 million by end 2011. All this was achieved not by BN's deceit but by straight talking of running a clean government based on CAT governance of competency, accountability and transparency. Only by voting out this BN government in the next general election can this perpetual cycle of deficits, debt and deceit be stopped.

(Straight Talking)

Posted: 16 Jun 2012 09:15 AM PDT

Minister of Domestic Trade and MAB should join hands to open up a Customer Complain Counter in LCCT or at least sponsor an effective signage explaining consumer rights and how to complain.

If possible, place those not far from AA operations counter.

Kenny, Danny is not AJ’s mentor. Both these idiots have Tony F as their “mentor”. AJ has said that he regret the cancellation of the Share Swap because now cannot get “advice” from his good friend Tony. Tony also confirmed in his STAR interview he can now pick up the phone and call AJ anytime! For all these two idiot’s qualifications, they still fall hook, line and sinker to be conned by Malaysia’s biggest c.n-man.But we must not forget this c.n-man has many “powerful” people behind him or in his pocket, which he confirm when he told MAS staff “BRIBERY works in Malaysia”. Thats why he got the guts to take on MAB and everybody else. But, we must remember, “sepandai-pandai tupai melompat, jatuh ke tanah juga”. Its only a matter of time .

Lets see what the Pariah going to do with the 200 Airbuses that he has ordered. At least no more share swap, it will be difficult for him to pass them to MAS. Furthermore, there is no Sleepy Head/Slumber Jack and the 4th Floor to protect him. Lets see whether he can do what he did during the Sleepy Head era where he can owe Airport Taxes to the tune of RM100 over million and thereafter got a discount in Indonesia I also want to owe income tax for many years and then when paid get a 30% discount from LHDN! The Pariah should stop talking cock ok. The same applies to AJ.

Agreed with Old Man. That Pariah has sown his hands. Enough is enough. Unfortunately that stupid AJ is still thinking that the sun shines through the Pariah’s ass. That brainless AJ must go otherwise MAS will keep on cutting profitable routes in the name of saving cost. like Bandung, Sydney (the extra flight granted by the government) and etc.

Lets fight the three Pariahs who are still in MAS. Get rid of them. They are the incompetents in MAS that were put there to take orders from the Pariah.

I previously posted that TF announced plans to relocate Air Asia to Indonesia as nothing more than leverage to pressure Malaysia into submitting to his demands.  Essential to the “paying it forwards” model of an LCC is constant expansion, extract all the incentives from each new destination they fly to and continue to press for more concessions from their existing base.  Either way, the move to Indonesia will end in his favor.

He quieten it down when CCF, KLIA2 and MAB issue was going his way.

I predicted that like a sore loser, with the unwinding of CCF he will firstly put down what he failed to get, followed by other actions to pull back his “contributions” that will not effect him financially and finally replaying his ace in his sleeve – the relocation.

He has gone on record to put down the whole episode with his various statements to the press.

He will try not pull out of the Pilot Training Academy JV cos he put in nothing and yet he has gained substantially.  But if he did, he losst nothing since he put in nothing.  He will not be sending his aircraft to be maintained by MAS cos he used the maintenance agreement as leverage to get even more incentives from Indonesia and Garuda are lowballing the price to attract this, to boot.

He has now confirmed his move to Indonesia.

These are not the actions of a man of conscience and noble intentions.  It truely showed his colors.  He will hide behind business sense to justify his actions.  He is selfish.  He went into CCF with his own personal agenda.  There were no intentions to save MAS.  It was all about enriching himself.  For he can still help MAS and gains from the whole deal without the CCF.  Obviously without the CCF, his ability to squeeze every last cent from the deal is very much limited.  He conveniently forgets all the incentives and concessions that Malaysia has given him.  He also forgets the many  words that he has stated.  For now I hope everyone can see that his words are worth nought. He blames everyone, the union, MAS, hell even Malaysia. Not once did he say, he could have done it differently.

So now it is our turn to screw him. Open the flood gates for a class action suite to get back your money.

Aj is the worst MD MAS ever had. No MD has been shown to be behave like him. Sending out 2 e-mail just to praise an idiot like Nanny Danny. No MD sent out e-mail at midnight to say that RA has been signed when it was only signed in the day. His communication skill is zero. He should be the MD of a health club provided they want him.

Just pack up and save himself and his family of the embarrassment like what happened to his mentor Nanny Danny.

ANAK GEMBIRA HAJAT IBUBAPA TERRTUNAI DI BAWAH KERAJAAN PAKATAN RAKYAT.

Posted: 16 Jun 2012 02:21 AM PDT

KG.

"Kalau nak kira permohonan memang lama.

Menurut beliau, sebelum bapanya meninggal, Allahyarham turut bertanya mengenai permohonan hak milik tanah.

"Mak meninggal tahun 1992, ayah tahun 2011.

Ucapan Penangguhan berkenaan isu Scorpene

Posted: 15 Jun 2012 07:37 PM PDT

Tan Sri Yang di-Pertua,

Pengkhianatan: Dakwaan Penjualan Dokumen Sulit Pertahanan Negara

Tan Sri Yang di-Pertua,

Demi mempertahankan nama baik Malaysia dan kerahsiaan pertahanan Negara, Kerajaan Malaysia dan Kementerian Pertahanan perlu mengambil beberapa langkah antaranya ;

a)    menjelaskan apakah benar maklumat yang dikesan keluar daripada Malaysia;

b)    samada Kerajaan Malaysia akan memohon untuk menjadi wakil pemerhati di Mahkamah 'Tribunal de Grande Istance' Perancis untuk mendapat akses kepada kertas pembuktian yang dirujuk oleh SUARAM;

Sekian, saya mohon mencadangkan.

Wassalam. Terima kasih.
