Checkmate For Najib

Over the last few weeks, we have seen many scrambling to salvage whatever that’s left of Prime Minister Najib Razak’s image.

But it’s gotten even worse for him with the admirable news report in The Edge financial newspaper, saying evidence it has pieced together showed that various transactions between 1Malaysia Development Bhd and PetroSaudi International were a scam to steal USD 1.83 billion (RM6.9 billion) from Malaysia.

Checkmate For Najib

And it’s now clear that the Sarawak Report website was blocked as Najib and others implicated in the 1MDB scandal had something to hide and not because of the spread of malicious propaganda that could destabilize the nation.

In fact it’s the scheming done by flamboyant businessman Low Taek Jho together with elements within the government for financial greed, that destabilizes the financial stability of the country.

And none of these back door deals could have been possible without Najib’s knowledge. Or he was taken for a joy ride by Jho Low and others.

So it’s time for Najib to explain the dizzyingly complex scheme to swindle money from the Malaysian public and how it ended up in his bank account.

And it looks like the multitask force investigating the 1MDB scandal has outlived its usefulness, particularly given the exposé by The Edge.

All that’s now left is for the cabinet to ask Najib to resign. Or we can conclude that the cabinet is also in cahoots with the Prime Minister.
